“Never fails to challenge”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Gorgeous course....challenging for all levels. The 16th and 17th broke my heart! We played on a beautiful sunny day. It was in immaculate condition. We played with two members who were very friendly. The other members we encountered on the course were very courteous. The food in the restaurant is great as were the staff. Nice pro shop. We will be back.

“Great course, bad weather”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Of our week in Ireland this was the worst day weather wise, but one of the better golf courses. The people in the pro shop were friendly with strong Ohio connections! The golf course is demanding, and was made more challenging by the wind and rain. Fortunately the sun came out at the end of our round, but we were already drenched despite our rain gear. There are some dramatic elevation changes, but the finishing holes are not the best. The food and drink after the round was good and the service was friendly. I hope to return on a drier day to better appreciate the golf course.

“Tough Course off the Medal Tees”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

I've played County Sligo Golf Links on numerous occasions over the past 12 years or so and always enjoyed it.

Last time we played off the medal tees in windy conditions. I found it quite tough, even though I did win a nice prize over the two days. But many of our group found it very tough off these longer tees.

It's not as tight as other links venues I have played (e.g. Carne and Ballyliffin), but it does offer a lot of variety, strating with the delightful par 3 fourth and par 5 fifth, which has an elevated tee to the low lying fairway below - great golf with beautiful views of the Atlantic and Benbulben.

It's always a joy to experience links golf in Ireland. Rosses Point, being a bit more open, provides a break from those courses with cavernous fairways through high sand dunes and is well worth a visit.

“tough, windy golf course”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We played 13 links courses on our trip and this one was ranked right in the middle of the bunch. Very windy, tough course with an interesting layout.
