It can be a little hard to find this place if you do not know the area - that's why we locals love it so! Seriously, I have never known anyone to not receive a warm welcome here - and with the Atlantic ocean just outside the door the warmth is always welcome. Go there for a quiet drink at lunchtime or a bit of a Crack in the evening and enjoy the Guinness - you will get out what you put in. Oh, and the food isn't too bad either.

A short walk back to Aughris and you can have a lovely short walk to Patrick's Well around the corner - watch the Hares run off the rocks across the fields and enjoy the breeze - then return for some more warmth! See you there sometime, maybe.

I wrote a review of the Beach Bar/Aughris House a few moments ago and was then directed to this page for the Beach Bar. Oops!

Anyway I am going to say the same wonderful things as I have said in my other review.

Myself and my partner visited the Beach Bar the Saturday before last after a nice walk on the beach. We had drinks and it was so cosy that we vowed to return last weekend for food.

My other half fished for a while last Saturday off the rocks at Aughris and afterwards we came to the Beach Bar hungry!
I had a HUGE caesar salad with brown bread and himself had the Irish stew.
The food was really tasty, great value, and there was loads of it so we left stuffed!

The waitress was helpful and friendly and the bar and restaurant are so cosy that we didn't want to leave!
The location could not be better, right across from the beach, and I am sure on a stormy night the Beach Bar would be the perfect place to sit in and enjoy some traditional music and a few pints of Guinness!

We will definitely return, sooner rather than later!

A great place for surprising variety of great meals from fish and chips, to bangers and mash sirloin steak,
and even a customized chicken curry that was the best

The shops surrounding were like tesco and that, so we could buy the drinks for the kids and let them sit outside

Good quality basic food in a rural setting. No frills and a reasonable price. Obliging staff. It is right on the coast with Aughris Head cliff walk and Dunmoran Strand beach walk nearby. A nice little surprise for a place that at first seems very ordinary. Be aware that the opening times mean that off-season it is only open at weekends.
