In Sligo for the Easter break, and we found this little restaurant our first night, it has a pretty, modern, classic layout, and a relaxed and very welcoming atmosphere. The staff - (there was only one waitress on shift - Nicola) and she was a great girl, very welcoming, attentive (when she needed to be) and efficient. She looked after all the customers, (about half the restaurant was occupied) with the same degree of care that you very often do not get. The food here is excellent, my husband ordered chowder to start, and he thought it wonderful. Both of our meals were a delight, and Louise the chef brought our cheeseboard herself, explaining the locally sourced cheeses, an absolute treat. If we are back in Silgo, we will definately call again.

The Silver Apple is a bistro style restaurant with an interesting menu. Dishes have an unusual combination of igredients which certainly worked well in the ones we ate. The surroundings are bright welcoming and the staff cheerful and helpful. We will go back whenever we are in Sligo.

Nice food, but not a great menu, early bird menu poor, very cold room, close to bus/train station and the best western hotel.

Myself and my husband went to this restaurant valentines night. They had a St Valentines special set menu 3 courses for €26 €4 supplement for the 10oz steak. We both had the seafood chowder which was delicious with brown bread & warm homemade scones. For the main course I had the fillet of salmon with herb & lime butter sauce & my husband has the 10 oz steak which we both enjoyed. The dessert was tiramisu which I wouldn't be a great lover all. Overall it was good food & great value for money.

The food was great and the service very friendly even though the main dining area was packed. The restaurant is a short walk from the city center. Wines were reasonably priced. We'll be going again when next in Sligo.
Make sure you get a table in the main area as the "spillover area" lacks charm and atmosphere.
Do try it.
