stayed in hote sat 18th feb. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bar service was poor and food over priced.Burger and chips @ 13 euro and fish and chips 15 euro. Had predinner drinks organised and were not ready when arrived for dinnner. had to wait 20 mins for them and no staff came to the table to take order for food had to go and look for someone to take it. Breakfast was ok. Not to sure if we would return to hotel with so many other hotels offering better service and quality for money

Wow just home from a Fantastic little break away with the Family me my husband and 3 children aged 8,5,3 and i must say we will be back, from the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome, nothing was to much trouble. The food was divine and there was great menus on offer. the children enjoyed themselves at the live music in the bar and they were up dancing and having a ball. thank you so much to Frank, Ann-marie and all the staff in The Four seasons in Monaghan

Room Tip: Ask for a Family room it was superb

Home from the UK with my 3 children.
My mum wanted to treat the grandchildren to lunch.
We went during the week expecting it to be quiet
It was very busy but staff did a good job serving us quickly
But not very child friendly, little choice!
There were 7 in our party most of us had beef.
This was overcooked so much it lacked any flavour or taste, tough as old boot is an understatement
The veg & potatoes were completely tasteless
The waiting staff did a great job despite been quite busy but this does not excuse the poor state of food.
With little change from £100 it was very poor vale for money

This was the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend i have had for quite a while.
The food in both the restaurant and bar was delicious, and the prices were very resonable.
The staff were very helpful. The 'range restaurant' is really lovely for breakfast and the food was great and piping hot. The rooms were very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, and a double power shower in the bathroom. The leisure centre was fabulous and not too crowded, with both a jacuzzi indoors and a hot tub outdoors. I didn't use the gym but it had all the usual equipment. This hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the lovely town of Monaghan, and there is a great garage/shop directly facing the hotel. There is a very relaxed atmosphere about the whole place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the building as the hotel is on a height and not overlooked.

This is the typical run of the mill provincial Irish hotel that you find on the edge of every Irish town. It comes complete with the generic decor and the generic bar food and breakfast menu and caters for weddings, wakes, debs and other Irish social occasions. However, like most hotels of this ilk, it is clean, comfortable, friendly and can offer good deals from time to time.

I'm on the road with work a lot and have stayed here a number of times to break up journeys between Dublin and Donegal/Derry. I have had no issue or complaint of any of those occasions. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The hotel is comfortabIe and all the amenities are sound. I particularly love the pool and leisure centre (low lighting, very relaxing) and the lounge area is a great place to read a paper, or do a bit of work.
The only complaints I would have would be the same complaints I make about all these type Irish hotels: no escape from blaring TV's when eating in the bar; excessive noise and drunk people if there is a wedding or function on; palatable and ok-ish food (but usually nothing organic or locally sourced), piped music or some radio station playing during breakfast, not able to serve a decent pasta.... etc, etc
The Four Seasons is not very Vivaldi, but it worth a stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if there is a function on.

Spent one night in the Four Seasons, Monaghan prior to a wedding. There was the obvious issue here of the name, this hotel is NOT part of the popular chain so don;t make that mistake. So I checked in with that in mind and to be honest it wasn't a bad hotel at all. I found the rooms by be perfectly adequate and would compare them to a typical 3 star business class hotel. It was clean and comfortable and absolutely served its purpose. If you are looking for a hotel in monaghan I would recommend it but what I will say is that it will be one of those hotels you stay in thats just a little bit forgettable, as in there was neither anything special or horrific about it.
