booked this for our 25th wedding thought this was a nice hotel
very quite, paid extra for a sea veiw we were put in a nice room in the attic with 4 velux windows looking out over the bay .wich some one had broke the cain on or we would not have been able to look out.
the staff and owner were very helpfull and pleasent but for the money i feel it was very dear.
the menu was very limited for the evening meal and the bar was not up to much
no tea making in the room was a big minus over all nice place to stay but very dear.

Room Tip: this is more of a dear b&b not a hotel

We had a wonderful couple of days stay, and would like to say the rooms were impeccable newly decorated and spotleslessly clean, beds extremely comfortable and furniture of high quality, together with a memorable dinner which was good quality service excellent homely and friendly and finished off by over looking the bay and watching the sunset. Whilst staying we also had a fantastic boat trip around Clew Bay for two hours by an excellent skipper showing us all the islands wrapped up warm and extremely best value for money Clew Bay Safari boat trips for (check Google to book) seeing the local wildlife !! very memorable weekend and a fantastic place to say had by all !! we would highly recommended to everyone

The hotel wasn't exactly what we were looking for - we are couple at age 30plus. Restaurant was OK (with limited choices & very traditional menu), rooms were OK (a bit old-fashion but cozy), there was a bar but no-one was sitting there as it was too cold to sit there (heat off in May in Ireland ?) so not overly cozy.

Also pls note it is far away from actual town - not walking distance to other bars / restaurants. Other visitors were at age 50plus and I would imagine it is nice relaxing place for a weekend if you are not looking for luxury dinners, or not spending a night with a good wine & company.

The place is quite clearly B&B, not a hotel - also from the perspective that there is only two people running it (so if they are in a kitchen you can ring a bell and they will come to bar to take order and other way around), teenagers serving at the restaurant (very nice & professional teenagers but it's still very family-way to do it), also very limited times to get dinner (7-9pm or you can stay hungry..).

Although the 'Hotel' was spotlessly clean It was by no means a Hotel...more like a B&B. After paying 130 euros for 1 night B&B we expected a luxurious romantic night away, instead we were welcomed by a lovely lady assuring us we wouldnt need Tea and Coffee facilities as that was just for the young ones. Whilst waiting for our Taxi the Lady of the house insisted we have a drink in the Bar (which was more like a sitting room). The Beer expiry date was Jan 2012 which could have really ruined our night.
Following our Breakfast, which was very very nice we checked out. On leaving the Woman of the house came running after us as she forgot to charge us for our drinks...this was the icing on the cake...very disappointing.

Enjoyed our stay. Standard of fittings in room excellent, clean, super bath and shower, really nice owners. Only negative was that tea/coffee tray had to be asked for and was sparse. Well worth €90 per room/night.
