Really good hotel although is expensive but then again - you get what you pay for! Fabulous room - very modern and trendy - gorgeous color scheme. Had a nice jacuzzi and it was devine. Over all - a really good spot when visiting westport - its only a couple of minutes walk from the town which is a bonus. Thanks to all there!

My wife & I stayed in the Westport PLaza for two nights in August on a mid week break. We both live in Limerick but are originally from Cork & had just travelled from Dublin having been hammered by Kilkenny in the all Ireland hurling semi final so were both a little down and looking for something to revive our spirits. When telling the girl at the check-in where we had come from she commented " think what's it like being from Mayo " and it put things in perspective. Good start ! An even better start was that she upgraded us to a better suite including Jacuzzi & balcony which helped even further. The hotel location is in the centre of the town so no long walks from the pub which is always best avoided. Also car park was free and underground & plenty space.
We dined in the hotel that night and this was the one negative from our stay. I had beef which was tasteless as were the vegetables. My wife had the duck which was much nicer ( as I can testify as I shared it with her not having the appetite for tasteless beef ). On the plus side the starters were excellent and the desserts nice although quite small ( we took the mid week 2 night deal with B&B + 1 evening meal included so unsure that if we had taken the a la carte if it would have made any difference ).
The hotel room was large & fabulous. Large screen TV, Jacuzzi,, Seperate TV room, Large bathroom, balcony. All great.
As per above the hotel location was great. We went out the 2nd night and could safely walk back to the hotel easily. Self service breakfast in the morning was excellent and an incentive to get out of bed early !
For those not in the know Westport is a fabulous location and would advise the drive to Conemara and to Kylemore Castle for a great day. The weather on the Tuesday helped but the hotel had no control over that !
Overall excellent hotel & service. Perhaps a little expensive for what we ordered but with the upgrade included it was worther the price easily. I would sugest reviewing the beef but this was only a small item in the scheme of things.

Beautiful rooms more 5* quality if you ask me, plasma tv with up to date films which didnt have to pay for, mini bar, sofa, dressing table, floor length windows, we had a corner room so we had two windows instead of one lol, bed was heavenly and staff were very helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in your opinions and were very informative best hotel ive stayed in anyway!

STAYED in the Westport Plaza for 6 glorious days in August with our two pre-teen / teen children aged 11 and 13. This is the only time we've ever stayed in a 4* hotel room in Ireland where EVERYTHING WORKED! (And there's been quite a few). Nothing required fixing. Nothing was out of order. Nothing was broken. No bulbs blown! Just Entirely Perfect. FREE Newspapers each morning. Beautiful family room with balcony - high luxurious beds,- queen, double and single, flat screen TV - free movies during our stay (special offer that week). Bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and the very generious shower space makes a nice change from the usual, all in marble and granite. Largest selection of a breakfast menu I've ever encountered! RESTARUANT MERLOT - A DINING HEAVEN - It puts the culinary arts in a different category. Lift to underground carpark. Didn't use car for 2 days as hotel is right on the town's edge What more could a Tourist ask for? We've gone abroad on holidays the last 4 years and The Westport Plaza is the only hotel in Ireland that gives us a reason to stay in Ireland. Leisure facilities and 'Spa Sula' were excellent. WHAT A FIND. The success of this hotel has to be attributed to its staff. Without doubt, CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST. Other hotels, please note - this is how its done.

I first heard about the Westport Plaza when listening to a broadcast on Today FM live from the hotel. They recommended it as a luxury hotel in the west of Ireland, so I booked in for one night for me and my partner to round off our summer holidays.

When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who quickly got us checked in and sent us off to our room. We had booked in under the 'Gold' Package and received everything we wished for. The rooms were beautiful, spotless and trimmed out to perfection. The jacuzzi bath added a nice touch and the marble bathroom looked splendid. As part of our package we received free internet access and free movies, which was a nice way to relax without having to leave the room - everything was there.

We visited the bar for a bar snack that evening. The service was quick and friendly. Food didn't take an age to arrive either and was cooked to perfection when it did arrive. Reasonably priced too.

Overall we had a great night and just wished we had booked for longer to get the real benefits! Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Westport Plaza two years ago, in June, and thought it was great. On returning this time, when the hotel was very busy, we wondered if it would be as good as it had been, but we need not have worried, it was brilliant. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is delicious and the bedroom and bathroom beautiful, and spotlessly clean, what more can I say? County Mayo is a beautiful part of the world and we would happily return anytime to "The Plaza"

From arriving to check in it was clear that the staff were friendly and keen to help, The first impression can make or break a travel experiance and our experiance made it.

The room, complete with Living room and kitchen was superb, The bedroom alone was the size of many hotel rooms we have stayed at, so the mini suite set up was a very welcome surprise. The only down side we had was that the movies which are complimentary were unavailable when my wife tried to choose one, reception told her the hotel was full and the demand was probably high. Wasn't too big a problem as we weren't there to sit in and watch a film.

Westport is a vibrant town and the setting of the hotel could not be more central.

My wife took advantage of the spa in the hotel and had a fantasticly relaxing few hours being pampered.

All in all I was only looking for somewhere to spend a night away, I looked at many hotels and going on Tripadvisor reviews I picked the Westport Plaza. It lived up to the reviews for us and I will certainly be back.
