Just a block away from downtown Westport. After an initial glitch of being assigned to a disabled-friendly room (which was still very nice, but we didn't need a roll-in shower and chair-height sink), we were assigned to a Jr suite. Luxurious furnishings but worn carpeting, king bed, couch. TV was a small for size of room and could not be moved to point toward bed. Free WiFi thruout building. In keeping with its "green" philosophy, hallway and room lighting is hi-efficiency (i.e. dim) and in hallways motion-detection controlled. Restaurant was expensive compared to rest of town and not crowded but that could be because it was Tues and Wed evenings. Buffet breakfast was very good if you have a large appetite. The basement parking garage was nice to have in rainy weather but filled quickly. Shares leisure-spa facilities with adjoining sister hotel Castlecourt.
Question to management if you're watching - why do you make up the beds with heavy feather-type comforter/duvets in the summer time?

Room Tip: Request a room away from street - heavy traffic during daytime.

I have just returned from a fantastic 3 night break in this hotel with my husband. The hotel is so convenient to the town, parking no problem. From the time we checked in on Sunday all the staff made us feel so welcome. They are all so friendly and helpful. I had asked for a quiet room and got a perfect one on the third floor with a nice view of Croagh Patrick. The Merlot restaurant had a great choice for dinners and the food was fabulous. I had read some of the previous reviews on the breakfast but I'm not sure what everyone else expected. There was plenty of variety from fresh fruit to lots of different cereals, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses to the usual full Irish, and lots of brown bread and pastries. The Spa is to die for, I had a wonderful facial done by Aoife and it was heaven. I wish I lived nearer to Westport for that alone.
It is very obvious that this hotel is run as a team of staff and management working together to give the guests the very best experience of Westport and that is what we got.

Stayed here once before this time in a smaller room, we were in a penthouse this time and the room itself was fantastic, very well laid out. One bizarre omission was no bathrobes, though.

Good friendly staff, the restaurant is still quite good, but their vegetarian options aren't great -- the vegan option we requested was the exact same dish we got last year!

Overall though a really good stay and hotel.

As a member of a 15 strong stag party, mainly older and sensible chaps, the best man had arranged a good package from two nights over the fri/sat with breakfast. The evening meal from the set menu was superb and the entire party was served promptly and professionally. Comments included, 'best duck I have ever had' ' melt in the mouth steak', and from my friends would obviously enjoy their food this was high praise indeed. The breakfast was great, the jet bath in the room was the best hangover cure ever.

Our family party of 13 had a wonderful stay at this friendly Hotel - the accommodation, food, staff and service were excellent. We had a great time, loved the Restaurant for dinner and the Bar for lunch each day and the Spa and Pool was enjoyed by all. We all look forward to our next visit. GJD

Room Tip: Rooms on the #600 level.

The hotel is very nice, great location on the outskirts of the town with a lot of parking.
Checkin was very fast, the reception was helpful and gave us lots of info.
Our room was perfect, and very well maintained during our stay. The staff we met throughout the hotel were great: Cait in the spa, Peter, Charles, Ann and all others in the restaurant.

We used the spa and the pool, no complaints with either.

Two minor gripes which would be great if they could be improved:

1. Layout of Breakfast - the food area is too small and congested. Juices, cereals and hot food are all together and it takes ages to get through. The fridge with fruit & juice, and the middle section with cereal/bread need to be moved to one side. There was chaos each morning we were there, especially for staff who were trying to re-fill the hot food area. The fruit selection could be improved and individual yoghurts would be better than a large bowl.

2. Darkness of the car park - some areas of the underground car park are adequately lit, but others are not, especially to the right of the downward ramp. It is impossible to see inside your car as you get out. Also one of our party had a nasty whack off a wall pipe when trying to get something out of the car during our stay. This may be a new section but it really is too dark.

The hotel rates were expensive, especially for the Sunday night where the rate was inflated by more than 50 euro.

I would definitely book this hotel again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
The hotel was very busy during our time there, a lot of families. I'd book more off season next time but that is just a personal preference.

We stayed here 3 nights on our honeymoon and had a fantastic few days. The hotel is in the middle of the town everything was in walking distance. The room was fantastic, bed really comfortable, bathroom totally lux it was a real treat to stay here( we stayed in the presidential suite). Hotel staff were really friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was great we also had dinner in the hotel and that was really good aswell. Would definitely recommend this hotel, don't have one negative comment. The spa is worth a visit aswell, it's lovely!
