“Lovely people - lovely hotel”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

It was our second stay at the Wyatt and we were just as captivated as the first time.
The staff - ALL OF THEM - must be hand picked. The could not have been more friendly or helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The hotel is nicely situated in the centre of Westport surrounded by great music bars and restaurants, although the hotel food is also an enjoyable experience.
Top marks to the Wyatt management.

Room Tip: They all are pretty good

I was a late arrival to a hen party, but the staff were lovely and no pressure to do the 'official' stuff. We sorted that out next morning. Room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Ideally located in town, you can't miss it. Next time I'm in Westport for the night I'll be booking The Wyatt. (From one of the Grannies!)

Excellent location on Octagon. Very close to eating, drinking, sightseeing and shopping. Good wifi in lobby area. Rooms are clean...our far corner room was spacious and quiet, overlooking Polish deli.

Staff (Barney and Laura) were most attentive when we realized we had left toiletry kit at previous hotel. They worked to provide immediate replacement of necessities, had a doctor's name to prescribe medications, contacted previous hotel, and more. They went above and beyond, relieving our worry and concern.

We would definitely stay at Wyatt's again. Great grandfather emigrated from here in 1848 and everything about Westport was magical.

After doing loads of research, I chose this hotel as it was centrally located in the town. It seems the price of accommodation in Westport is quite high, so prepare yourself. Busy tourist destination. I asked for a room where noise was minimal and they suggested their "new" Courtyard Suite. This cost a bit more, but we figured we would get a first class stay. We found it to be dark and poorly laid out and hot. The TV had poor reception, and the "wet room", a vacuous space. We did expect a bath. The courtyard was not a private space either, more of a smoking space for our neighbour, in the room next door. If you pay a bit more, you expect a bit more. On the flip side, the staff were always smiling and attentive.

I am disappointed to read your comments about our Courtyard Suite as this is a newly built room this year with brand new furniture, bedding and soft furnishings. I will take into account the issues you have raised and ensure they are look into. I know your room rate was reduced to reflect your disappointment.

We do hope you will travel to Westport again in the future and stay at the Wyatt Hotel.

Staff unfriendly, obviously not morning people, had to wait till after 8 for a breakfast which didn't actually arrive until 8:15 cold. Have stayed in better camp sites. A real value for money hotel right in the heart of Westport !

We had originally planned on staying in a cottage in Galway but when we arrived it was full of spiders and not very clean. So after a 6 hour flight then driving 2 hours to the cottage we found ourselves with no place to stay. I had stayed in Westport on a previous trip so decided to go there. The people at the Wyatt were really nice and found us a room at a reasonable rate of 89 Euros a night. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The only reason I gave this hotel a Very Good instead of an Excellent was because the morning we arrived the electric went out in our room and was not fixed until the following afternoon. We were told at the time that we would be compensated for the inconvenience but upon checkout when we asked we were told there was nothing they could do for us. The pub was busy and had wonderful live Irish music every night.
Westport is a beautiful little town in the perfect spot to explore the beautiful West Coast of Ireland!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is lovely to hear such nice comments about the hotel, your room and Westport town itself. I am sorry to hear that there was an electrical problem in your room and it was not fixed immediately. I will ensure this is followed up with reception and maintenance staff. It is nice to read the comments about Cobblers bar and our traditional Irish music, this is a very popular weekly event.

We do hope to see you in Westport again in the future and hope you will visit the Wyatt Hotel again.
