“Lovely hotel but not the food!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

We decided to have Sunday lunch in this hotel. We eat out quite a bit so we know what the quality of food is expected to be in the town of Westport. We ordered Turkey and Ham and Beef. The cost of 2 main courses was €13.95 pp, this would normally cost €11.95-€12.50 for a Sunday Lunch else where in this town. The quality of the food Vegetables-great mix of carrots, courgette and mange tout. Their was a small portion of potato and the meat (turkey and ham) was absolutely awful-it tasted like something that was processed. We did not have desert as we felt we had enough. It is a gorgeous hotel in the best location but if they invested better in their food-it would be a gold mine.

My wife and I decided to spend our Wedding Anniversary in Westport, we have visited the town many times and always said we would return and stay for a few days. Well this time we did and booked into the Wyatts Hotel, from the very minute we arrived we got a great vibe and were made very welcome by the desk staff. We went into the bar for a quiet drink, served to us by very friendly bar staff and by chance were introduced to the owner local entrepreneur Noel Kavanagh a very friendly man who we would like to thank personally for helping in making our stay one to remember for all the right reasons. We had our meal that evening in the hotel's restaurant, not only was the food delicious but the service and the added touch for our anniversary was much appreciated. We ended the evening in the hotel's bar and were entertained by the local storyteller and musician and I have to say the craic was mighty.
Even though the weather could have been better both of us with hand on heart can honestly say one of the best couple of days we have spent in any hotel in Ireland. So credit were credit is due to the owner of the Gem in the crown of Westport Noel Kavanagh keep doing what your doing it is refreshing in this day and age when even the staff talk about their boss in a very positive manner, you've nailed it Noel. Can't wait to go back .
And all congratulations to Westport we can see why you were voted Happiest place to live in ireland well deserved.

Stayed here for one night, very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is small, but the rooms are average size. Very good food in the restaurant and the service was great. The location is great. The value for your money: you get more than you pay. I would recommend you to stay here if you appreciate a nice and quiet hotel with very friendly staff.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay in October 2012. Probably the best location in Westport. Staff very friendly & accommodating including the restaurant staff. We had the slight misfortune of staying in the 1st floor room in back with the shower that floods on to the carpet, but still had no complaints (note, we were told by staff that there were going to be renovations in the future. Breakfast not included in room price, and somewhat pricey, so we opted for breakfast at the grocery cafe across the street. Dinner at the Wyatt was quite good & affordable. Price was quite decent & hotel includes free parking and wifi. Would definitely stay again & recommend.

Excellent hotel. Quite cheap when you book 5 month in advance. Breakfast is too expensive. But there are enough cafes nearby.
The staff is very friendly. Coffee and tea in the rooms. Groups are welcome. And it's the best accommondation to recreate after climbing Croagh Patrick.

There's definitely potential for this hotel to be even better (ie 4 stars) but by all standards it's a great place for a family to stay. The staff are friendly and patient when it comes to children (and especially my super chatty 3 year old who had a complete meltdown when we arrived as she fell asleep in the car and was very confused by the situation). The restaurant served fantastic food and again very accommodating when it comes to kids.
