The Boulevard Guesthouse
Ranked #5 of 70 Westport B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 14, 2013

The B&B is centrally located along the canal and in close proximity to the downtown sights. We stayed in the top floor room with a spacious private bath. The room and bath were colorfully yet tastefully decorated (as was the entire house) and everything was clean. The price was competitive (70 euros for a quad, but we were only a couple and got the couple's price and they volunteered a discount to us because the skylight shades weren't working properly). The B&B was quiet. Guests were given free access to the wireless network, but on the top floor, we could not access it with the room door closed, so we had to stop onto the stairs to use it.

The breakfast was good too. We were given an option between the full-blown Irish breakfast and the healthier yogurt and cereal route, which we opted for.

While the facilities themselves were worth the price, perhaps the guesthouse's best asset was the super-friendly and helpful staff. The manager, Angie, was exceptionally welcoming and accomodating, and she took the time to point out the best places to eat and drink as well as answer any and all of our questions.

The Boulevard Guesthouse is highly recommended and we will definitely stay there should we find ourselves in Westport again!

We came back again to this classy house and were not dissapointed.Quiet yet close to town, helpful and gracious hosts, large and very comfortable and immaculate room, the breakfasts are delicious and after staying there for a couple of nights you feel more like a friend or member of the family than a guest, cannot say enough about the location, its perfect.

I was very impressed by the B&B. We were staying two nights on the bank holiday. The town was absolutely black with people and the owner Angela who could not have been more helpful and kinder to us. She gave us the low down on all restaurants for food. Advised that we should book in now for the following day and even came back with porridge for the morning. I was up early and wouldn’t be having breakfast and offered up some soloutions. I didn’t expect any as I was going to be gone at 5:45 and the second morning at 6:30.

The accommodation was lovely. Bright big rooms and very clean throughout. Quiet and overall a lovely place to stay.

Slap bang in the middle yet far enough away from the main street not to disturb your sleep. Plenty of parking on the mall too. We were also given the key to the garage so that we could leave our bikes somewhere securely.

I wouldn’t hesitate to book in again and when in town and would recommend it to any of my friends.

In saying all that if you are down on a hens or stags and looking for something where you can run amok this is not the place for you.

Thanks Angela, we will be back.

The two of us stayed here in mid April. Location is excellent and free parking on the mall right outside was a great bonus.A very short walk to the town and all the lovely attractions. We were welcomed by Angela and Ken and immedietly felt at home. This house is a period house and has retained all the lovely features and décor which makes it quite unique as guest houses go. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The dining room here is stunning plus there is free broadband for guests. Breakfast was hot plentiful and had a great selection, ask about the variety of porridges you will not be disappointed. before we left we also met the owners Sadie and John and they were most helpful in working out a itinerary for us to see all the sights as we drove on down into Leenane and Galway. Highly recommend it

Room Tip: If there any rooms available overlooking the river I would recommend them.

We spent the first night of our first visit to Ireland in Westport. The Boulevard Guesthouse provided the charm, comfort and coziness both inside and out that we hoped to find. Our room was clean, bright and overlooked the quaint yard behind the house where we occasionally saw two Irish setters (of course). Never heard a bark from them. Angela offered great suggestions for dining, music and sites in and around Westport. She eagerly assisted with identifying and completing arrangements for us with a B&B at our next stop in Doolin. The breakfast, both food and presentation, provided the perfect complement to the other elements mentioned above to produce a marvelous, first Irish B&B experience.

Quick stop in Westport and stayed in The Boulevard. Was down on a business trip and was totally charmed by this lovely town and this guesthouse made me wish I was on holidays and not working. Lovely place, location was perfect and the house is lovely. Will stay longer next time!

The Boulevard Guesthouse is located on the South Mall, a quiet residential street in the center of the town, along by the river and yet so quiet at night. Sadie & John Moran have refurbished their home to a very high standard and all six bedrooms have private bathrooms as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities, televisions and full wireless broadband access (Wi-Fi available in all rooms). There is plenty of free on street parking outside the house on this quiet side road. We are near all amenities including Matt Molloy's of ''The Chieftains'' fame (traditional Irish group ), Hoban's Bar at the Octagon has good Irish Music and lots of other bars with good music in them too. The town is full of top quality restaurants and cafés with every type of food you could want.
