My wife and I have just returned home from our second 3 night stay at the Castlecourt and again had a very pleasant stay. Our room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. We ate in the Bistro each night followed by live music in the bar. We toured each day after the best breakfast you will ever have. We will return again.

We went here for breakfast and expected it to be pricey. It was €9 each for large variety of juice, fruit, cereal, toast, pastries, full Irish, coffee etc.
Toilets very clean, staff friendly and accommodating.

Had a relaxing, enjoyable weekend in the CastleCourt. My husband and I, both, have food allergies and we were catered for better than we would have catered for ourselves at home and with a smile. From our allergy point of view this is the best place we have stayed in and we have stayed all over Europe. We were with a group, but opted to stay an extra night due to quality of service.

Just back from a lovely two night stay in the Castlecourt! Just wanted to pass on some well deserved praise for the ladies in the Sula Spa, had a lovely treatment on Friday morning, and the staff are just lovely in there, there is a reason we travel 1hr away time and time again to visit! As always the hotel itself did not disappoint, always makes for a relaxing and enjoyable stay! x

We stayed here for 1 night, during our drive around Ireland. We were disappointed by the quality of this hotel. I expected much more, when I booked it. Very bad price vs value. The only positive thing was the staff of the hotel. All the rest was very depressing. The hotel was overcrowded by people on some event. The rooms and the hallways are way out of date and need renovation badly! The bathroom is crying out for refurbishment!! The bar of the hotel was overcrowded with not at all friendly people ( extraordinary thing for Ireland)! And to get something to eat (apart from expensive set menu in the main restaurant) you have to go to a smelly, dirty bistro! It was really terrible! We found the solution by having our dinner in the bar of Plaza hotel. By the way Plaza is much better! The wellness facility is ok. Only 2 sunbeds to sit on and a few chairs. Water in the pool was 30 C. And to use the pool you have to by a swimming cap for 3 euro. Overall, the castlecourt hotel has to sell rooms at 50 - 65 euro to match the value it gives to it's guests. Don't stay here, unless the price is right and you are ready for a rough experience. Better to pay a little bit more and to stay at Plaza.

Room Tip: don't stay here!

Stayed there last Dec for a trip to Westport House, lovely hotel but the noise at night on the corridor was horrendous, we had 3 children with us and all were woken up at different stages, when I told the receptionist in the morning-she had very little sympathy and told us that what happens when there are weddings. Not good enough I think we were guests too.............
