Stayed here 30/31 December as attending wedding at another venue. Staff friendly and helpful but food disappointing, everything served at lukewarm temperature including irish coffees, tea, soup, chowder, breakfast etc...also not very tasty. Kiddies club very good my 10 yr old and two nieces 4yrs and 7yrs loved it. Would probably return if I got a good deal but I would recommend dining elsewhere.

Room Tip: Book premier room as more spacious and jacuzzi bath included

This Hotel is just a little way off the main streets in Westport. The Train Station is out of town so a taxi is recommended. Coach services stop in the town area and a walk is about 6/8 minutes. The Hotel is situate at the end of a cul-de-sac which seemed to confuse my sat-nav but I found it O.K. Car Parking is provided free at the front or if full around the back and there is plenty of space. Check-in was quick, friendly and polite. Perhaps the Best Family Hotel 2013 at reception is a little premature but the general impression given by staff seems to indicate that this accolade will be warranted in 12 months time! The bedroom was on the ground floor and was very spacious. There was a good selection of channels on the TV. Heating in my room was by air conditioning and could be set to suit my taste. The bathroom suite consisted of separate walk-in shower and bath, but the downside were the fixed-to-the-wall bottles of soaps/shampoos normally associated with the cheaper motel chains. Everything in the bed/bathroom area was clean and tidy with little evidence of wear and tear. The fire alarm did briefly sound in my room around midnight, but stopped as i was halfway out of bed. There was no reason given[nor did I request one] at check-out the following day. There is a gym with a fairly good selection of cardio machines and also some weights, etc. The pool area is good with sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and it is great to see that produce where possible is sourced from local farms and towns. The chef is named on the menu and obviously takes great pride in his work. The bar area was quiet but a function in a room next door brought a little liveliness to the evening. The Guinness was good, sometimes it can be a bit "off" in the quieter hotel bars where the demand on the tap, lines and barrel isn't to great. The following morning's breakfast was the usual affair of a selection of fruits, cereals and fruit drinks. A 'smoothie' was also available. Hot breakfast was ordered and brought from the kitchen. Check-out was like check-in, quick and efficient. I would recommend this hotel for a visit to Westport.

Room Tip: My room looked out onto the back car park and I suspect that none of the rooms have anything like a...

we stayed here for a wedding, the meal at the wedding was fabulous couldn't fault any of it, the waiting staff were very good and even the chef came out and put on a little show for the bride and groom. our room was lovely a bit difficult to find but the bed was huge and comfortable, the only thing i would have to say is the people staying on the same floors didn't match, we went to bed after the late bar and there was a family with small children next to us, they could improve on this. The breakfast was grand normal hotel breakfast. staff went out of their way to be nice. I had a massage in the spa the girls name was Zita I think and it was brilliant I would recommend her very highly. Could do with more car spaces but would stay here again

Room Tip: i think the higher floors are the more modern and nicer

We stayed in Hotel Westport while guests at a wedding in the hotel. I found the staff wanted to help, wanted to go beyond my expectations. This culminated when I discovered we had left a pair of shoes behind. I called and in no time Madeline located the shoes and called back with a friendly 'no bother' when I expressed my gratitude. Throughout our visit it was obvious that the customer service ethos is inculcated into all staff, which made the visit so much more enjoyable.
The room was excellent, service excellent, friendliness excellent and food really good. Westport is such a beautiful town, with lovely surrounding scenic drives. I have no doubt that we will visit Hotel Westport again.

This hotel is a little outside the main shopping area of westport but well worth searching for. Rooms are very comfortable, food good service great. I would recommend it to all. The night I was there the hotel was very busy but this did not result in a fall in service.
