Our CIE tour guide advised us to purchase tickets for the Weds night show as soon as we could as it always sold out. Indeed, the start of the show was delayed as they brought in extra chairs for some of the locals. The show has wonderful dancing and the local celebrity singers attract a large local crowd.

The hotel location is excellent, adjacent ot the park of Westport House and near the town and river walk.

We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. I had an unusual starter with a putag of black pudding that was superb. The black pudding tasted like a rich and wonderful Xmas pudding.

The bathroom was very nice except that the door swings the wrong way so that it blocks the sink and toilet rather than swinging towards the shower. The shower is excellent -- a very large stall shower.

We are CPAP users, so we need access to an electrical outlet. Many of the hotels in Dublin plug the light fixtures and alarm clock into an unusual socket that cannot be used by any of the standard converters, so in many cases we had to use the extension cord we travel with and make full use of the length of the cords attached to the CPAP power units. The electrical outlets at the Hotel Westport as at several of the other hotels are on the opposite side of the room from the beds.

My husband blew out the power plugs when he turned on the hotel hair dryer, but they came immediately to fix it.

The third Kenny family reunion took place at Westport from 10th-14th August 2012 in a blissfully warm weekend sandwiched between two horrible wet weeks.
The Hotel Westport provided the venue for our dinner dance on Sat 11th Aug. This function catered for 200 guests from four continents and spread over five generations of Kennys.
If we had any doubts about the hotel's capacity to deal with 'our crowd' amidst the bustle of other functions, these were quickly dispelled.
The staff moved efficiently and effortlessly throughout the weekend dealing with all our queries about golf at Westport G.C., climbing Croagh Patrick (40 plus hikers) and providing all info about this beautiful town.
Festivities concluded at 2.30 a.m. without, hopefully, disturbing other guests and followed the next morning with a full Irish breakfast cooked to perfection.
Highly recommended hotel for long weekend breaks, just make sure you pick fine weather!

Room Tip: The superior rooms are well worth that little extra cost, ask for special deals at time of booking.

We arrived in Westport without a reservation. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. It was one of the reccomendations from the tourist office on the main street in Westport and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 2pm and a room was available right away. We had a wheelchair accessible room which was not required for us but I wanted to let you know that they are available.
The room was very comfortable and large.
The location was great - off the main road but just a few minute walk to town center.
We had breakfast included with our room rate and it was well worth it. Be patient as there are busy times for breakfast - but I believe the wait goes fast.

Fantastic hotel in great location.staff are so welcoming...a long time since I've seen such good hospitality. Great food in bar. Excellent pool and brilliant kids facilities. Stayed recently with a group of girls and itch family-both very enjoyable. Will not pass it when next in Westport.

With the bad summer weather in Ireland this year, everyone must have gone away during the last week-end in August! Westport can be busy at the best of times but it was jammed during our visit. The hotel was full, mostly families. They have a spa, pool and fittness centre. Even with the crowd and the demand on resources and facilities the hotel staff lived up to the challenge. Bar food looked great and the music in the lounge in the evening was very entertaining. In spite of the crowd, breakfast was not the expected rush in the morning, again the staff kept cool heads and looked after everyone. Leaving our room for check-out, one of the young housekeeping staff, politely said "Safe journey home!". That made our visit and really reflects the courteous and positive attitude of the staff at this hotel.

Room Tip: Not sure, we had a ground floor room and there was some overhead noise with children running up and...

Had a nice time at this hotel. Found it slightly stange, some parts of it were quite old fashioned other parts (like the rooms) very modern. Our room wasnt ready until 16.30 which I thought wa a bit much. We paid 20 per night and got an upgraded to a premier room, glad we did as the standard rooms (from what we say when we passed them in the mornings) looked very old fashioned. Premier rooms were really nice, lovely shower, flat screen TV, nice decor etc. Beds were huge and really comfortable. However I think you nearly expect these types or rooms in hotels these days so I dont think you should have to pay extra. Had dinner the 1st night in the hotel restaurant, wasnt overly impressed, much preferred the bar menu but dinner in the restaurant was included in our package. Waiters are run off their feet, practicallty running from table to table. Breakfast was good but once again very busy, had to queue every morning for breakfast. It didnt help that we went from 9.45 to 11.00 their "red period", they say if you have breakfast between 7 and 8am you wont have to queue but who wants to get up that early on holidays!! Good selection for breakfast, lovely scones. Only used the leisure centre once, its a small bit dated and the changing rooms are small. Definatly not luxurious but it did the job. Overall I would recommend this hotel, its only about 5 mins to the town centre so is really handy. Westport is a great spot, lovely shops, restaurants and pubs and I would stay in this hotel again

All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.
