Lovely hostel, can't say enough about the staff who were very welcoming and interested in the travellers visiting. Plenty of showers/toilets and very comfortable beds. Even the 10 bed dorm has loads of storage space and doesn't feel cluttered. The common rooms (separate dining and sitting) are spacious and well equipped. Would be a fine place to spend a rainy afternoon if it was necessary. This place would easily suit families with kids, more than many hostels I've been to.
Some small practical downsides - the kitchen is a great size and has space for everyone - but missing a second sink and a second oven/hobtop to allow everyone make use of the size of the room. Time the cooking of your meals to avoid the rush at dinnertime!
Also, the lightswitches for the 10 bed dorm are outside the room - a little impractical for those sleeping furthest from the door! A 2nd switch near the mantelpiece of the old fireplace would be very useful!
Overall, though, a fantastic hostel - one to which I will certainly return.More
