Had a fabulous weekend here in March. Staff friendly, food was delicious, breakfast devine. Room was huge we had paid to upgrade to delux but when we arrived they upgraded us to a grand delux free of charge. Highly recommend a stay here -- pure luxury

Room Tip: Pay that little extra for that little extra luxury

We stayed here for a weekend in February as a much needed break after the long January blues. The hotel was fabulous. Every aspect met or exceeded our expectations. Our room was really well furnished and finished and the facilities were top class. The pool and spa area added to the relaxation of our stay. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the Saturday and the food was exquisite. Personally the best duck I've ever eaten.

All in all we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to come back.

A delightful hotel with a 5 minute walk into town. The most welcome roaring fire in the reception sets the scene for a charming stay in what feels like a country retreat. My room was cavernous and well furnished with a very well appointed bath room. Lovely dining room with stunning views over Crough Patrick. Simple but well executed breakfast served by professional staff. As a vegetarian I can only highly praise the potatoes served with the cooked breakfast; they were truly amazing and I have asked for the recipe.

I holiday regularly in this part of Ireland and will definitely make Knockranny House Hotel my 'must stay' venue.

My friend and I had the over 50's deal -- 5 nights bed and breakfast with 4 dinners all for 255 euros each and we did not have to pay a single room supplement. This was the main reason for coming here since we resent having to pay in excess of 25 euros each per night for single room supplement. We also had a complimentary bottle of house wine on one evening and tea/coffee and scones on one afternoon. I could easily say that this was the best hotel food I have ever had. Dinners were superb as was breakfast. Service was excellent and timing was spot on. There was no shortage of staff and they were extremely efficient and friendly. Unfortunately we didnt have time to try out the Spa or Vitality suite. We had two of the smaller bedrooms ( one double bed) which were adequate for one person but I would not like to be staying in the same room with a second person for more than one night. It is in a great location and we would definitely come back to this hotel.

I stayed here recently and I found this hotel to have some good points but there is something not quite right about the place. It is really lacking in atmosphere. I stayed in the new part which takes about 6 or 8 minutes to get to from reception with 2 elevator rides in the middle. The staff are ok, some a bit strange. The bar feels more like a sitting room in a 1980's Irish bungalow. This food is good and the breafast was very good with amazing views. The sauna was so hot that it burned me and there are a few other gimmiky steam rooms that really don't do much. I left the place feeling strange. It has great potential but I think it needs a revamp or a fresh pair of eyes. There are no pay per view movies or sky channels in the rooms.

We took a three night break with the third night free in February, an excellent deal. The scenery of Mayo is minutes away. Head north and you have easy access to Newport and Achill or Bangor and Nephin Beag Mountain and the Céide fields en-route to Killala and Belmullet; south you head down past Louisburg and Killary back to Leenane, taking the shorter route back to Westport, also scenic.
I am disabled and I found the room wonderfully large as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant had great views of Clew Bay and Croke Patrick mountain. The breakfast is delicious as you order a hot breakfast after taking cold food from the buffet. It was piping hot and delicious unlike many hotels. The food in the restaurant was dear but well worth and the bar food was cheaper and excellent, more than worth it. Don't miss out one night in the restaurant though. The staff were friendly and helpful at all levels. There is a pleasant space downstairs that is a bright and cheerful space for reading or sitting just inside the disabled entrance. We will be back.
