Description: An Port Mór Restaurant is run by Chef-Proprietor Frankie Mallon. Our philosophy is to use seasonal, artisan produce from local suppliers. House specialities include pot roasted pigs cheeks with black pudding & apple and vanilla sauce and 21 day dry-aged sirloin. The main emphasis is, however, on local fresh seafood and shellfish, particularly lobster, crab, scallops and langoustines fresh from the west coast of Ireland, especially Clew Bay.

After 2 weeks of dining out during our recent trip to Ireland, our best experience by far was at An Port Mor Restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, but energized. The menu is varied, with some very unique choices, both traditional Irish and seafood choices are tempting. Ther are lots of fun extras included in the dining experience. The service was excellent.

we had a meal here one evening. The food was flavoursome and presented well. There was quite a wait between course as the restaurant was very busy but this was maybe a good thing as it gave us chance to digest each course. it is only a small restaurant and at times I felt a bit too close to the other diners but the food was good though on the expensive side. There is a good menu choice.

Myself and my wife went to An Port Mor purely because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was top class, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The pig's cheek starter has to be tried, its excellentThere's a lovely feel to the restaurant and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. If you're in Westport for the weekend, I'd definitely recommend An Port Mor.

To be fair the food was very nice however I think they are trying too hard, my starter of smoked fish was delish but had 3 very small pieces on a large wooden board with lots of chutney/salad etc for decoration. I personally would prefer to do without all the frills for a little extra fish. My partners duck main course had about 15 different (he says I am exaggerating, not by much tho) tiny portions of things on the plate such as beetroot, samphire, red cabbage, beans, broccoli and so on, some were then duplicated in the vegetable side dish. Duck was quite fatty too. My trout main was cooked to perfection. Very cosy intimate atmosphere and good service. Bread/sardine pate and petit fours inc in price. Overpriced in general but they do an early bird just wished we had gone then.

Dlighted with our meal. Due to the restaurant being very busy we had to book in for 6 o clock but this meant we could avail of the early bird. Great selection on the early bird menu and the food was delicious. Will definitely return!
