We stayed here for just the one night. In that time we received a very warm welcome and even had a choice of room. The room was clean and bright with a big comfortable bed. The owners generously offered us use of their bikes, free of charge and advised us on scenic walks if we wished. Restaurant menus were available in the reception with other useful information. On arrival at breakfast we had our choice of table and of plentiful food. Hot and cold. All in all we would definitely recommend this lodge, it is slightly longer than a five minute walk maybe fifteen. However this did not detract from out enjoyment. This was our first stay in Westport but we will definitely be returning and will call here first.

Room Tip: Room number one, with a smaller bathroom but bright and comfortable.

We stayed on a not so busy weekend night in March falling just after Paddy's Day so no problem getting a room here on a Saturday night. It's a bit outside town, no problem if you're driving and a taxi out was €8 that night from town centre. A little bit of a walk but not so much, just an uphill and a downhill into Westport.

We were greeted by Patrice at the door of his beautiful looking residence. He's a lovely relaxed and charming French host, very friendly and we chatted away for 25 minutes before we even got to the room. Same next morning at breakfast, grand and easy to get along with. He explained work was being done on the house and was supposed to be closed for the weekend but accommodated us none the less in a room downstairs which was clean and as expected for a bed and breakfast. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, teas and coffees provided, a small tv if required, plenty wardrobe space and the ensuite was spacious.

Breakfast was a choice of continental or traditional and we had espressos and coffees to boot. Plenty of food to start the day. Patrice had two bikes out ready for us which he didn't charge for and the house is in a fantastic location right at the start of the biking belt "Greenway" which brings you all the way as far as Achill if you wish. Careful though, we headed off in the direction of Newport and there wasn't a shop to be seen for 10 miles. Bring your own water!

We weren't put under any pressure to be out of the room by a certain time which was great and much appreciated the following day. We felt really relaxed actually after the time spent there, full value for the price paid and would have no hesitation coming back again.

Room Tip: for 60 or 70 euros, any room will do and it's a lot better value than some of the hotels that ar...

Had a lovely stay in the Woodside Lodge. Helen and Patrice are excellent hosts and very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Only ten minutes walk to town and right beside the Greenway cycle trail which is excellent and Helen and Patrice provided bikes for us free of charge. Would highly recommend it as a place to stay and hope to go back again....

We received a very warm welcome from Helen & Patrice and were offered a choice of rooms.
Woodside B&B is clean, homely and well located on the edge of town, It's also beside the Greenway cycle trail for which Patrice very kindly prepaired two bikes for us free of charge.
All this coupled with a great breakfast makes for exceptional value for money.
We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend Woodside Lodge.

Just returned from a one night stay at Woodside Lodge. The room was very comfortable with a big bed. The ensuite was spacious and very clean. Helen and Patrice were friendly and welcoming. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it as a place to stay in Westport.
