Have just come back off a National Holiday trip to Harlequin Hotel, what a wonderful hotel. From getting there late on Sunday night to leaving Thursday morning it was a great experience.
The whole hotel was clean and tidy, the staff all friendly and nothing was too much effort. Although you had a set menu you had a good choice and no request was a problem, would just like to thank all the staff for a lovely stay. Would recommend to anybody and if we go back to Ireland would stay at this hotel without a doubt.

Had an overnite stay in this hotel recently and I was very pleasently supprised. It is very well situated on the edge of the town and on the side leading out to Westport. The hotel it self it very bright, the foyer gives a statement of quality and this is maintained throughout the hote. The bed room was I have to say a little small and while it had everything needed ( mind you no Trouser press which is essential to the male business traveller) It was a little cramped in size. This is the only down side to what is a quality hotel. Value wise it was just ok mind you., I had to haggle to get it down near to what I would normaly pay for an equivelent hotel on my journeys, but a very pleasent stay was enjoyed.

Dear Colin,

I would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Harlequin Hotel, and it was nice to read that you were pleasantly surprised. The location of the hotel is ideal as you mentioned on the edge of Castlebar town and on the Westport side. I am disappointed that you found your room small as it was an executive room. I am glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and available of our corporate rate. We look forward to welcoming you back again,

Kind regards

We booked this hotel after a hotel in westport fell very short of the mark . Have to say this is what a 4 star hotel should be like. Very happy all round. Rooms lovely clean. Hotel looks amazing staff cant do enough for you their only down fall is Their breakfast. Its a self services buffet which means to me , Its Time for oldon to be a little pig and have double helping of full irish. . That being said Great hotel great staff. Food very good. Not to be missed if your in the area .

Our stay here was an unexpected. We had left our hotel in Westport which didnt meet our standards.I'm so happy that we went to the Harlequin. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was fab. Free parking and great shopping. What more could you want.

Just returned from 4 great nights in the Harlequin Hotel. Can't fault the hotel; staff, rooms, bar, food...everything was spot on. We travelled with National Holidays from the north east of England, had difficulty getting information from them but the reception staff at the Harlequin went out of their way to help.

Customer service staff at National Holidays didn't seem to have a clue regarding times and itinerary's to the point I was told we had an overnight stay in Dublin - no such thing. If you're travelling with National Holidays and want information please don't hesitate to email me.

The Harlequin is a fantastic hotel and we made some great friends, I wouldn't hesitate to go back except next time I'd probably fly.

Overnight stay at the Harlequin Hotel in Castlebar proved to be a big mistake. Simply put, we did not get a wink's sleep through the night because of loud partying noises from a nearby party house. Called reception to complain and the night porter, who had answered the call, said he could not do anything bout the noise since it was not coming from the hotel. He did not act to call the police to report the disturbance and the noise continued right through the night. Next morning the hotel receptionist said they had no control over the noise level from outside the hotel area and offered us an upgrade should we decide to stay with them again in the future. Needless to say we will not be accepting the upgrade offer and will not make the same mistake twice.

Room Tip: Do not agree to pay for any room if you cannot be guaranteed noise/disturbance free sleep.

Dear Dolores M,
We place great importance on guest feedback so your comments are greatly appreciated. I am disappointed that I did not get to speak with you prior to your departure as I would like to impress upon you that we have not achieved our success , occupancy levels and return guests by allowing people to leave with such a low opinion of our hotel as you have formed.
As you have pointed out the noise disturbance originated from a nearby estate and while it is of little consolation to your lost nights sleep thankfully this is not an ongoing problem for our hotel guests. Due to high occupancy levels on the night we could not move you to another room but our night porter did contact the Gardai to report the incident and request that they make a visit to the estate.
I would hope to welcome you back to the Harlequin Hotel at some point and repeat the offer made on checkout of an upgrade to one of our suites and that we may attempt to repair your tarnished opinion of the hotel.
Kind regards
Martina Nicholson
