We went to Castlebar for a gig in July, we were met by the owner who took us for a quick pint in her local before we put our bags in the room, Class start to the night if you ask me :)

The rooms were very clean, warm and had hot water 24/7.

I also loved the shower ! it was very powerfull ! (I hate crappy showers)

I travel a lot around Ireland for work and I don't normally write any reviews but I have to give this place a big fat 10/10 !!

On a cycling tour of Ireland and Castlebar was a stopover. Very friendly reception by Una in her clean, modern, comfortable B&B. There was plenty of room for our bags to explode in the room, the shower had plenty of hot water. Indoor storage for our bikes. Her family is into cycling, so she provided us with good information about our route on Achill Island. Good, plentiful, hearty breakfast to send us up the road. Good location near shops, pubs and restaurants. Great value. Wifi was weak in the room, but very good in the restaurant.

I have stayed here every year since it opened and Oonagh and Dessie are the perfect hosts. They run a very good , clean, B&B on my recent stay they even offered to drive myself and husband to a wedding and collect us after.
They provide wonderful Breakfasts, i always feel like its home from home and always look forward to returning. Carragh House is also so close to Pubs, Coffee shops, Restaurants and Shops. Great showers and really clean bedlinen. Can't wait to go back

I'm so happy to be the first to review Carragh House. I blew into Castlebar without a clue as to where to stay. The tourist office was closed, but I got a recommendation from a local in a nearby coffee shop. Carragh House was within walking distance of where I had street parked, and when I rang the bell, I was greeted by Des Corcoran's open, smiling face. He was the soul of hospitality and helpful advice. He gave me excellent directions as to how to navigate the streets from where I had parked. Later he gave me recommendations for the best local pubs and restaurants and other attractions. Plus a map to the town.
My room and bath were spacious, spotless and beautifully decorated. The building is modern, but retains the old-world charm that I look for when I travel overseas. There is easy access to a supermarket, pharmacy and ATM nearby, all close to the city center. There is off-street parking, which I value highly since most towns in Ireland now require pay-and-display parking fees, and I like to stay in town.
Breakfast was hearty and plentiful. As I prepared to leave that morning, I was sent off by a "God bless!"
I only needed to stay in Castlebar for one night, but my opinion of that city is very positive because of my stay at the Carragh House.
