“Delicious food at great prices. Well worth a trip to Bru!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

We have been to Bru for dinner three times in the last two months. It's a gem! We were so impressed the first time we just keep going back and each time we are impressed again!

They do a menu for €22 for starter, main and dessert. It's fantastic value. The menu has a lot to choose from too. About 8 starters, 20 mains and 8 desserts. They also do 3 specials for each course every evening and they are included in the set price. Yes, there are some supplement prices for things like seafood and steak but we have been three times and I'm always able to stick to the €22 menu and always have a lovely meal.
Food is served hot and presented excellently. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. My husband is very fussy when it come to steak but the last time we went he decided to get the fillet steak - medium rare and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
And if you don't want dessert after starter and main, they only charge €18 which is fantastic value.
Try it - trust me you won't be dissappointed!

“Great Meal”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Our first night in Ireland we dined at Bru which overlooks the River Boyne. We were pleasantly surprised with the delicious food and very attentive waitstaff. Definite recommend if you are in the area.

“Good food but...”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

On arrival to this restaurant on a Wed evening, we were pleasantly surprised.
The decor is tastefully done, the seating is well laid out and we were immediately seated by a waitress.
However, we were seated overlooking the street, when we requested a view over the river (much more atmospheric) we were told the section was closed. Quite ridiculous considering it's the more attractive side of the restaurant.
We went for the early bird. The menu provides choice for all tastes but there are a lot of supplements- is it 22 euro or not??
The dishes itself were tasty. I couldn't fault the food.
Service could have been more efficient in terms of speed and attention to detail. (cutlery not bring replaced, water in jug, napkins)
Overall I would return but not without trying out other restaurants in the locality. The chef is doing his job well, the waiting staff possibly need more training.

“Food not great had Sunday lunch”
Reviewed September 10, 2012 via mobile

Pleasant and welcoming staff. Good choice on menu however quality of food was very disappointing . Had the chicken wings to start with large portion so ideal for sharing . Very messy I know there wings but still a lot of extra sauce on them.

Chicken dish was just ok but it did come with nice mash and adequate veg.

Steak was a disaster too much fat and not cooked as requested. Not food quality at all

Dessert was fresh and tasty.

Wouldn't have Sunday lunch here again unless the quality of the mains improve
