“Fit for a king.”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

We stayed over the 12th July 2013. The service was excellent. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, food and drink being served out the front by the beautiful fountains. Every member of staff was without fault. Smiling and always helpful. Being from the North we found the murials amusing. Rooms could do with fans or air conditioning though the tropical weather is rare. Rooms werre small but for some reason this didnt matter. Discovered great bars in the town which made the experience even better....we started off by staying one night and added a second because we loved it so much. We will be back.

Room Tip: no pool or fitness centre hence the terrible ratings i gave for both

This hotel is truly a one-off in terms of unobtrusive service, staff who really care about you and want to serve you, atmosphere and food which is second to none. You are welcomed and cherished from the moment you set foot in the door and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. They are true professionals with the personal touch and it is easy to see that the ethos comes from the owners, who are very hands on and for whom, nothing is too much trouble. We sat out in the dusky sunlight last evening with the sound of the water trickling over the fountains amid the riot of coloured flowers - and the bees were buzzing.... Bliss! Only one problem - it is not physically possible to try every mouth watering dish on the menu at the one time............ guess we'll just have to go back! Would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel special in a hotel which is also very special!!! Thank you very much folks....

Somehow even a 5 star rating doesn't do justice to this wonderful establishment!
It truly is a little bit of heaven! We stayed one night on July 18th for Bed/Breakfast and Evening meal. From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure and literally every moment in between, our every need was catered for and anticipated by Martin and Trish the owners, and their dedicated team. The fine dining restaurant really is a joy, the food excellent, the waiting staff so professional, courteous and attentive, and each and every member of staff so genuinely interested in ensuring that you have the best experience possible.
When we finished our meal we sat outside in the beautiful garden for drinks, and whiled away the evening into the wee hours...the cascading flowers all around us and the two magnificent fountains ...we could have been anywhere in the world! And just when I thought it couldn't get any better Martin the owner appeared with a blanket to put around my shoulders just as darkness began to fall...I really felt so pampered!
We finished off with a beautiful freshly cooked breakfast this morning, again served in the magnificent dining room, the lady serving was so welcoming and helpful.
Hotels like this are very rare, the owners clearly are passionate about hospitality and certainly lead their team by example!
What a lovely way to have spent our 35th Wedding Anniversary!

My partner arranged this for my birthday, lovely surprise. The food is great, breakfast, lunch and dinner were delish. There's some outdoor seating for the warm weather and you're sitting in beautiful coloured gardens with the sound of the water features going, lovely. The staff are gracious and accommodating throughout, but I knocked one point off for the size of the room and where it was situated... We went to brekkie early and went back to our room for a nap before checkout. We hadn't slept too well the night before with the heat. It was roughly 10am.. next thing we know it like a glass bottle throwing competition. Bottle after bottle was crashing against each other. We looked out the window and there was the barman getting rid of the empties from the night before. It went on for at least a half hour at which point we got up, got ready and checked out. Reception said "oh yea you were in room 103 above the bar, they are not supposed to do the bottles that early..." I rest my case. It kinda ruined the experience if I'm honest but as I say, the rest was great. Side note would be that the huge mirror going across the wall in front of you is unnecessary and not pleasant if you don't like catching sight of yourself the whole time. Tv was small and up to high so the picture quality was poor.

Room Tip: Ask not to be given rooms above the bar.

Thank-you for posting your review if us on tripadvisor. I am delighted your dining experience with us was up to the standards we strive to maintain. I would like to apologise to you for the un-necessary timing in which we carried out the emptying of the bottle bins. You were given one of our smaller rooms as the hotel was at full occupancy. All I can do is apologise and hope that you will contact me if you decide to return to us and I will make amends by upgrading you to a larger room. Thank you for bringing these comments to my attention.

Kind regards
Mark Mc Gowan

Fantastic 2 nights stay with my girlfriend. We stayed with a Living Social deal and were made to feel very welcome by all of the friendly and professional staff. We ate from the lounge menu and then wanted to try the a la carte menu, both were excellent with plenty of variety and really well presented. We had our meal outside the front which was very relaxing with the pristine gardens and the sound of running water from the fountains. Breakfast was also fantastic and the lounge bar was a great place to spend the evening. We both can't speak highly enough of our experience at the hotel and would definitely recommend it to all. Will hopefully be back very soon.

Just stayed overnight with family and it was fine. Rooms are small but well appointed. Bar staff EXCELLENT. A nice atmosphere too. Didn't eat but restaurant seemed busy with happy customers. Ordered a sandwich late no problem.

Not only fine rooms, reasonably priced, but a world-class bar + an outstanding restaurant! What a business model: no hard sell needed: There really is no need to leave the place! It salves your conscience of course when it rains, err....which it has been known to do.........!! I nearly forgot the fresh fish, the great steaks....+ much more. The best feature last: the service + the natural charm + warmth. Lovely, lovely people......

Room Tip: Can't help there, but best to ask for the bigger variety.....no pool, no fitness room - so what
