We needed one nights accommodation in Drogheda....and I remembered the name of this hotel from many years ago!! I checked out the details on tripadvisor and decided that it would be ideal! We were able to book a room for £45 without breakfast which was really cheap! The hotel was very nice although a little way out of town...The room was comfortable and quiet (even though there were several children staying along the corridor!) It is a very welcoming hotel and has a nice bar......The barman that was serving us was so lovely, chatty and helpful....and very cheerful....! I hope the hotel are grateful to have such a good member of staff (we never got his name, but he was tall with grey hair and very smartly dressed!!) I felt that the rooms needed to be modernised...but obviously that would be a large undertaking and the room prices would have to go up!! This hotel would be a wonderful place to hold a family celebration or Wedding!! I would definately stay here again. There is a car park in front of the hotel and the grounds and gardens are beautiful!!! The hotel is child friendly and family friendly...

Room Tip: I only stayed one night so am unable to advise on which rooms were best! My room was on the ground f...

Has to be the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Brown stains all over the mattress, walls and the two chairs in the room had yellow/brown stains on them. Reception manager was rude and unhelpful. When we arrived they gave us the wrong key and wrong room. Would rather have stayed in a Travelodge.

I've had the pleasure of staying in this warm and welcoming hotel recently. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and professional to my family and we will definitely return soon. Rooms were spacious, warm and clean but are in need of modernising.

On the way home after a great weekend at the Boyne Valley Hotel. Everything was fantastic. The staff in the hotel were so nice. Nothing was a problem. One of the staff in the pool area even gave my son a swimming lesson. Food was good with loads of options for the kids. Only negative is that the room was a bit shabby but the whole place was clean. We will be back.

We had a very pleasant time here. Such a beautiful building but i do agree that it does need some work and a good clean, our rooms were very clean but some parts of the hotel were quite grubby, esp the windows and walls. The grounds were great for the kids to run around and i felt very comfortable to let them play outside. Food was enjoyable, the cooked breakfast one of the best i've had in a hotel in a while but could do with bit more variety with the breads etc.. and would have loved some cheese. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's defo not the height of luxury but for the price i paid i have no complaints. Would defo stay again if i got the same deal. Kids loved it and to me that means a lot.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room wasn't ready when we arrived . Food in bar was barely edible and had to request a clean glass for our toddlers drink as first glass had mould growing in it

Hotel was dated and dirty throughout we stayed 1 nite that was enough. Reception had no change and very unhelpful. The whole hotel and spa suite needs updated. Such a beautiful property and it isn't being looked after. The wood on the exterior is rioting away around he windows and fascia.
