If visiting Louth with golf on your mind this course is the best around. Some really challenging holes. Always in tip top condition.

What a links one of the best I have ever played . Greens true fairways in excellent condition . Real test of golf but very fair . Apart from par 3 17 didn't feel there was a weak hole . Very friendly membership very friendly greeting on arrival . Food after in the resturant was very good all in all great day out.

Have to say, this is one hell of course. I loved the way it was right there in front of you and the difficulty of the greens.

Have to say, our caddies, Marty and Jim made my son's and my day. They were extremely knowledgeable about the course, the breaks, the yardages and when to lay back and when to go for it.

My son and I were lucky to be let off early before many other groups and we played in a bit over 2 1/2 hours. Loved the pace of play! Without it we would have gotten dumped on as rain was on its way but with the help of Marty and Jim we pretty much beat the wet stuff to the clubhouse!

Staff there was great, welcoming and very professional. Have played about nine courses this trip (the biggies in Ireland) and have to say, for just plain fun Baltray (County Louth) is one of the top three!

Was suggested to us by the pro at Ballybunion and I'm glad he did.

The golf course is good however way way overpriced. For half the price on the West coast you can play far superior links courses. Fairways were very average but greens were good. The clubhouse staff were terrible and the highlight was the fact that they had gone to the bother of putting laminated descriptions on the tables of everything you couldn't do in the club like ware your baseball cap etc which i can understand but for this to be your greeting to the table was a bit much. Add to this that there was no food available when we came in i can only say. Don't bother with Baltray. Ireland has a 100 golf clubs better than this in the country. Quite how they got an Irish open is beyond me.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn of your experience at County Louth Golf Club. We take our customers’ experience very seriously which makes some of your points particularly disappointing.
County Louth is consistently ranked in the Top 10 in Ireland across several different polls and publications. In 2017 it was voted Links Golf Course of the Year by the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association and just this week was awarded “Best Links Course Overall” for 2018 by The Golfers Guide to Ireland. All the more reason for our disappointment that the course did not live up to your expectations, however if you were able to return for a game we would like to think that you would see the course in a different light and have a more enjoyable experience.

We regret you were unable to get food when you completed your round as we pride ourselves on a ‘dawn to dusk’ restaurant service throughout the year. If you could contact us directly and let us know the circumstances when you visited the Club, it is a matter we would like to look into further.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the marvellous layout. The golf highlight was the downhill short par 4 14th. Hope to be back soon
