Enjoyed a 2 night stay on 17 / 18 April. Our party of 9 arrived late in the day and after a recommendation from the tourist centre we arrived on the doorstep of the Windsor. Olive and John were wonderful and most definitely went above and beyond what was necessary. Very comfortable and homely, great breakfast, easy walk to town centre, parking onsite and all the staff we spoke with treated us as friends. Highly recommend.

We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 children in a family room 7th-11th April 2013, visiting relatives who lived quite close by. The room had 2 double beds, bedside cabinets, table with tea coffee making facilities and dressing table with chair, tv with freeview, bathroom with sink, toilet and power shower (which was great) and free wifi. Towels were changed daily too! There was a kitchen downstairs if we wanted to use it, we did use use the fridge to store milk for my son to drink at bedtime. (just realised we may have left some in the fridge which will need throwing away, james pentony written on it) My mischievous son pressed some buttons on the TV remote (oops) so we couldnt get the TV working, a gentleman came very quickly to fix it for us. Nice room, always somewhere to park, good base to get around from. Full Irish Breakfast every morning to set us up for the day served very quickly and efficiently by the very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Thank you.

Last year my Partner and I stayed at this B & B for one night. It all started nicely, with a good room (in a separate building), where we checked in around 5 in the afternoon. However, when we came back from having dinner somewhere else, the window in our room was wide open. It must have been like that for hours, because it was freezing in the room. Eventhough the room was on the second floor, it was visible from the road, that our window was open, and it being in a separate building would, in the end, have been accessible to burglers. We then closed the window, checked our belo and didn't report it yet, because it was late, and we assumed that the maid, who did that would get in trouble.

The next day, however, when we checked out, we met the owner of the B & B. We told him and the receptionist about the open window, about the freezing room and the danger to our valuables. To our disbelieve, the owner started shouting at us, telling us that we should be happy (!) about that service. That it was nice of his staff to open a window. A decision that would clearly be ours for the night, when we're renting the room.

Even after all this time, and when I compare it with my experiences from years of experience of travelling, I am shocked by the behaviour of that man. If something had happened that situation would have been one for the insurance, and yet he chose to shout at his guests.
I would never recommend this B & B to anyone.

We have taken note of this most unfortunate review and the date of the guest's stay with us -- nearly a year ago. The single element of her review that we would agree with is the phrase "incredibly rude" -- and that applies to the guest herself. In May of last year, this couple came for a one-night stay with us. When she checked in and entered her room, the second-floor window was open. No housekeeping staff were on the premises and no one entered her room while she was out for dinner. Clearly, she had left the window open while she was out. The next morning, with a lobby full of guests checking out, this woman comes in and starts shouting about her open window and her concerns about burglars coming in the second-story window. Her behaviour was unbalanced and her conduct completely unreasonable. We do hope that she is obtaining professional help. We do note that she had no problem with the premises and appreciate that she ranked us accordingly.

Very welcoming reception, excellent service. Very comfortable spacious, spotless room. On site parking at no extra cost. Amazing breakfast. Owner went the extra mile... helping and advising of where to go and what to see throughout Ireland, even booked other accommodation for us! An absolute wonderful Irish hospitable experience.

My father wasn't feeling well, so Trish from the Failte B&B in Slane told us about the Windsor Lodge, and we stayed an extra night in the area. What a wonderful find! After we tucked Dad into bed, John recommended we stop at Monasterboice and I'm so glad we did. The Celtic crosses from Monasterboice are the ones I've seen on all the postcards. We headed up to Millmount in Drogheda for the tour and the museum, and Patrick spent almost three hours talking about the history of the area and of Ireland. Clean rooms, good breakfast, and John is fascinating to talk with.

My husband and I stayed at the Windsor Lodge in Sept 2012. It was our first time to Ireland and I was looking for a place to crash after our long flight into Dublin. For this purpose, the Windsor lodge was great! It was cute and comfortable. There is parking onsite and the traditional Irish breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. Downtown Drogheda was a 10-15 minute walk from the B&B. There is a petrol station next door so we could fill up and stock up on water and treats. My only complaint about this lodge was the water pressure was a little weak, but at least it was warm.
