My starter was poor (mushroom risotto). Steak main was ok - decent peppercorn sauce but I asked for a rare steak and got medium. Sticky toffee pudding was super. Bit of an alleyway location.

Beautiful food, beautiful restaurant, the staff provided really great service, just a pity we felt rushed out the door....

A group of 9 of us had dinner in Freddy's last night and I must say I was very disappointed at how we were treated at the end of the evening. Dinner was booked for 8pm and we were practically thrown out by 10pm. The food was lovely but the portions were small.
If the restaurant were in such a hurry they should not have taken an 8pm booking. Also they had no problem taking an order for yet another bottle of wine at desert. Before I started my coffee they were constantly banging behind us and put the phone on loud speaker and basically doing anything they could to make us feel uncomfortable and leave. It was terribly rude, this was quite an expensive meal and this behaviour was unacceptable.
Like I said, they could have mentioned something when the booking was made, but no, they took the money and then literally threw us out the door when it suited them....

The food was lovely, staff friendly, setting lovely but by about 9.30pm we noticed a lot of noise being made and it was felt by all of us that we were being politly asked to leave though we were not actually asked to leave, The phone which had been silent all evening was now ringing on a constant basis and conversations could be over heard about how soon the staff could get out of there, the chef came out dressed and ready to go home around 9.45 which he did do, and then the moving around of chairs upstairs was getting increasingly louder in an effort to make us feel unwanted. some of us then left and went into the pub across the way to wait for the rest of us who were still drinking our coffee and wine, i do understand that people might be finished work at a certain time but we should have been made aware of this upon booking. for a finish i will add that i did enjoy the food but the hospitality leaves a lot to be desired we had spent a lot of money there and felt hard done by, and if i did return to this restaurant i would definately let them know that our farewell dinner for our brother left us feeling dissappointed

My family were bidding my brother and sister-in-law good bye as they head back to Australia and booked a meal for nine people at 8.00pm in Freddy's Bistro last night. We weren't disappointed, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was cosy and warm and the service was courteous and friendly. However, mid-way through our desert course at approx. 9.45 it became obvious that the staff wanted us out. The telephone began ringing incessantly, really loud and there were loud noises coming from upstairs as the staff began clearing up. We were the last diners left in the restaurant but didn't feel it was excessively late and even allowing for tea and coffee we would have been leaving within twenty minutes anyway. This coloured our experience of the evening and I wouldn't rush back there for an occasion again.
