“great place to stay in Limerick”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Fine bedroom, great bathroom - which is really important to me. A lovely place for breakfast, free wi-fi, curled up with the paper and the laptop in a great lounge area. A good place for a weekend - and would stay there if I am on business in Limerick again - I felt comfortable and relaxed - great service for a fair price. They seem to really like their customers too. For all this they deserve to do well so taking the time to give them the thumbs up.

I have travelled far and wide, with groups, with my lovely husband and with a friend..... we like our weekends away.....I can only say that everything about the Savoy is 200 percent......the staff are amazing....Vincenzo....Mahtin..... Mike.....too numerous to mention them all. The food was out of this world and nothing was too much trouble... where would you get breakfast at 1pm???and be allowed to sit chatting at the breakfast table until 3pm on a Sunday (May 20th 2012) There was a lovely relaxed energy about the hotel and if there was an extra star rating for that lovely ambience the Savoy would surely get it. So I am giving the Savoy an unofficial 6 star rating and wish to say a very big 'Thank you' for making our weekend very special... Catriona and 6 other dolls from Galway.....

Nice hotel, nice cocktail in the bar and a great restaurant. We had a company weekend in Limerick which was my first visit in years. I had a room with a great view on the 5th floor. Staff were very nice and the hotel has this great lounge on the 1st floor which was very relaxing. The bar downstairs had this American girl who really knew her stuff about cocktails and was very efficient. Only one snag was the amount of cars at the set down area made it very difficult for checking in however it still deserved 5 stars.

Room Tip: Higher the better

At last a hotel that delivers
Comfort, Style, Friendly, Value, they all promise it but few deliver.
From the get go Staff, friendly and effecncet. Rooms spacious and comfortable.
We needed a child minder for the evening which they organized.
She was there when we arrived. Our five year old thought she was great and we had a great evening out. Breakfast was outstanding, from full fry up to all your healthy options to kids favorites, all catered for. Been around and best value hotel ever! great city for a weekend break too by the way.

just back from a weekend with friends in the Savoy hotel in Limerick. this was a really great place to stay and it really added to the overall experience. The location is excellent - right in the centre of town but it's the staff who really make it. from check in to check out and everything in between they are so friendly and welcoming - as well as being very good at their jobs. Vincenzo, who we met at breakfast is a delight!
The room was really lovely - very comfortable beds and fab sheets. very luxurious bathrooms too. the reception on the tv was a bit fuzzy -that was my only complaint. Had a meal in the adjoining Hamptons and again the staff here were excellent. And the food was really tasty.

Stayed for one night on their Bollinger package which was overnight stay in an executive room including breakfast, dinner for two in the Hamptons restaurant and of course a lovely bottle of Bolli. All the staff we encountered were very welcoming and helpful. Overnight parking across the road in Dunnes stores was €7.50 for 24 hours once the ticket was endorsed by the Savoy. Loved the Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. The executive lounge snacks consisted pretty much of Tayto Cheese and Onion or Salt and Vinegar crisps, purple Cadburys Snacks and cans of soft drinks. The room on the 7th floor was well kept, had a standing balcony, bathrobes for two but no slippers, turndown service consisted of a replacement ice bucket and mints. Dinner in the Hamptons restaurant was excellent. It was very busy and the food and wine was great. Would stay again.

A really good experience with excellent, friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable beds. It's really well situated in the centre of the city and an easy walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time.

There is free wifi which is particularly good for the business traveller and the tv in the room has the bonus of Sky Sports which makes a pleasant change. It must also be one of the few hotels that still turns the bed down, draws the curtains and leaves a chocolate on the pillow. However don't jump out of your skin and shout out as I did when coming back to my room about 8pm and being surprised to see a woman in my room she was only doing her job of turning the beds down.

Breakfast was great with a huge choice of dishes and all perfectly served by very attentive waiters at our table. Some of the furniture looks a little dated but it's all very clean and in good condition and for less than £90 b&b it's a place where I will be staying again when I am next in the city.

Room Tip: Get one as high as you can and looking out over the river as it gives great views of the area.
