“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2009

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at Absolute Hotel especially my 3 yrs old daughter. We had a great room with modern amenities (Plasma TV, Internet access, tub, new lighting, etc). Our room was nice, clean and had great view of the river. Their front desk clerk is very helpful, polite and friendly. She recommended couple good restaurants to dine-in. Our room service was excellent. Food was great. I'll recommend to anyone visiting Limerick.

Great hotel only a couple of years old. Missed my flight to boston so stayed saturday night. I would stay there again. 99 euros for room and breakfast. parked in garage under hotel. I thought good value for money. Girl at front desk was excellent and very friendly. short walk to food and drink. liked being on river.

Just back from a 2 night break in the Absolute hotel with my 3 sisters. From start to finish we have nothing but a wonderful experience and all agreed that we could find hardly any fault - and any we could think of were very minor. Having read Tripadvisor reviews, I wondered about the food and the receptionists. We were met by extremely friendly (& chatty), helpful and informative staff at reception (ditto for check-out).
Also the food was just wonderful. One dinner was included in the package (same as the early bird menu and we found this provided plenty of choice - and is not expensive if not included). I'm a coeliac and the chef was happy to go out of his way to make amendments/ provide alternatives. We all enjoyed our starters (one smoked salmon, 3 goats cheese tartlets) and all but the chicken main (a bit overcooked) were also wonderful - we also had lamb and 2 salmon. Breakfasts were also delicious with plenty of variety on offer in both hot (rashers, sausages, black & white pudding, scrambled eggs, grilled tomato, mushrooms) and cold (variety of cereals, fruit salad, pastries, breads/ toast) foods. Restaurant service was absolutely excellent at dinner, only a little slow in bringing tea and coffee in the mornings. Staff were very friendly and helpful and professional.
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, if a bit hot (and air con was noisy), but we could leave the windows open for fresh air during the day. As others have noted, the glass bathroom wall/ door provides a bit less privacy/ sound-proofing than a solid door but this was really only an issue when trying not to wake another during a night-time trip to the loo. We asked for an iron & board and for extra towels and in both cases these arrived to the room almost immediately. We noted just how quiet the place was - rooms must be very well sound-proofed as we couldn't hear a thing from any other room and barely heard a few doors shut in the mornings.
Hotel location is also excellent, only about a 7-10 min walk from the main shopping street in Limerick. We thoroughly enjoyed Limerick itself, finding all staff we dealt with in shops/ restaurants, etc. to be extremely helpful and friendly. Would also recommend the Cornstore in town for dinner - we'd an early bird there which was outstanding. All in all it was a lovely stay, and I would certainly recommend the Absolute hotel to a friend and would return if I was planning another trip to Limerick.

I stayed here with colleagues while attending a meeting in Limerick. The hotel was great, good price, lovely rooms and the food was good. Staff were really lovely. I'd certainly stay again. it would make a great base for traveling in the Shannon area.

My stay in the absolute hotel was a big disapointment. in the web they advertised as a 4star hotel but your welcpme is a grumpy receptionist and from then on i should have knowen to move some where else. room was facing a river and the smell of it in the heat was unbareable. they don't offer roomservice you have to go on a vending mashine. no thanks. restaurant and bar are ok but just ok. check out was as quick and unpersonal as I had imagined it from my experiance during my stay. avoid and go some where else. I will.

i really enjoyed a weekend stay in this hotel. It was a reunion with old friends. We got a excellent special and the staff were more than helpful. The room was outstanding and luxurious with a balcony. With all modern facilities. It is in a perfect area over looking the river and just a very short walk to o connell street. I would defo go back again :)
