Just back from a fabulous birthday celebration in the Strand Hotel. We booked 4 rooms including a suite and we had a fantastic time. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Amazing view of the river from suite. Hotel Bar buzzing at 2am with a lovely atmosphere. Excellent breakfast service and we got a lovely table for 8 to round off our celebrations. I would highly recommend the Strand Hotel for a girls weekend away.

Pros ... Great central location, comfortable spacious clean room. Plenty of options on kids menu. Our hotel package included trip to king johns castle which was very enjoyable. Very nice breakfast!

Cons... Bar food overpriced and very average, there were 6 of us eating with 5 small children , kids meals are overpriced and don't included dessert as is the case in many other hotels, ice cream is an extra 4 euro, this hotel needs a kids meal deal, I had a very average club sandwich and it was 15 euro. Not worth it! The service in the bar (for bar food) was very slow at times. We ate in the restaurant on the second night and the food quality was definitely better.

In saying that, we would recommend the hotel but it would come with a warning about the overpriced bar food.

The staff was courteous, and the rooms were nice and clean. I found the hotel was well situated to the everything, where we were able to walk to St. John's Castle, and also within walking distance of all the shopping and city centre. They is a cost of 6 Euros per night for parking at check-out, which i thought was rather reasonable. I was able to come and go with the car as the main desk would provide a stamp to exit the parking area. They was a wide range of choices of food for breakfast; cereals, porridge, sausages, bacon, scrambled egss, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, and black pudding. Would definately stay here again!

Just back from an overnight with my husband and there was nothing we could fault about it. We booked a suite with an enclosed balcony overlooking the river and it was fantastic. Bed was really comfy with plenty of pillows. Great selection of toiletries in the bathroom including a shaving set and toothbrush set. The whole place was spotless clean. Breakfast was exceptional with a fantastic selection of everything. Checking and out was faultless. Lovely staff we will definitely stay again.

This was a nice hotel stay. The room was ok-nothing spectacular, but definitely nice and clean. The hotel is in a nice location and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The glass elevators are really pretty and I loved the way the hotel was lit at night. Overall a nice place to stay.

Recently arrived here for lunch in the bar, was confused as to how we place an order, no one behind the bar, so we took a seat, got up to find a menu and sat back down, many staff members passed and some took orders from tables around us but not from us so I got up again to be told take a seat and someone would come over to take the order.. sat down, ordered (from a very limited lunch menu) food arrived minus a side order of fries and we were told 'sorry we forgot. will we order them now for you but there will be a ten minute wait' so we decided against. food arrived with no cutlery so up i got again looking for some and again I was told take a seat and someone would bring them over to me, food was only ok, service was confusing, price was poor for the food and service on offer and even though we are local and would find this convenient for us I don't think we will eat here again based on this visit.

I've never stayed here, but spent many lovely mornings with a drink or coffee in the coffee area.
It has the most Beautiful View on the River in the Whole of Limerick. Calm atmosphere, Quiet, Good service. THE VIEW makes it worth it. Walking distance from everything in Limerick City. If you eat here, you Park For Free. I've spent some days in town after a Breakfast at the hotel with free parking, all you need to do is walk across the bridge from the Strand.n Beautifyl Spot. And when you leave, get your Best-in -Town Brown bread from across the Road at Wild Onion.
