Had an amazing 4 nights in the lodges. Such a beautiful area, lots of activities to do and just a beautiful setting. Loved the accommodation! Peaceful yet lots to do during the day....mountain walks, bike rides......played golf and chilled out. The owner John was a pure gent...I left a clothing item behind and he sorted it back to me in no time...hugely appreciated. I will be back here for sure!!

“Hidden jem in a beautiful part of Ireland, that is often overlooked as a holiday destination.”
Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in June 2018

The houses are located in a small forest, it’s so nice to be able to walk straight into the woods. There are two safe playgrounds and a basketball hoop onsite. The kitchen is very well knitted out and all the bedrooms are en-suite. It’s a perfect location for a quiet relaxing holiday. There’s plenty of options for days out (within a 30 min drive). We will definitely visit again.

We are thrilled that Valerie and her family have chosen Ballyhoura Forest Luxury Homes for the third year in a row for their annual vacation. We really appreciate their belief in our location and what we and our staff are doing here. Valerie is booking again for next year.

“Fantastic Stay!”
Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in July 2018

Really enjoyed our time here, location is amazing- the houses are set in beautiful forest environment with a nice playground which the kids enjoyed! Houses are spacious with all mod cons and within driving distance of most sites, would highly recommend checking out the mountain biking in the area. Overall we had a great stay wish this was our own home!!

Stayed there for a week in june. I have been down 7 times. The houses are always presented immaculately. You don’t need to go abroad when you have this resort on our doorsteps. Looking forward to our next trip.great for kids with all the walks and woodlands.

It has been a pleasure to have Michael and his family stay with us at our location. Very little needs to be said or written except that Michael and his family have demonstrated a tremendous vote of confidence in us and our location time and time again. Thanks.

Pros:
Great Location

Lovely Local Pub within walking distance
Playgrounds on Site

Cons:
Late checkin/Early checkout
150 euro cash deposit required on arrival
Charged separately for electricity on checkout
No outdoor furniture for BBQ/etc
Gardens not well maintained, overgrown, nettles, scrub
Views obscured by hedges/trees from most angles
Very noisy water pump in the houses which comes on every time you touch a tap!!

Firstly this person is not known to us as he did not book with us. We are located in a small forest in a natural environment and that is the appeal of the place and guests are very happy with this environment. Some of the trees are 100 years old. The houses are presented in pristine condition and the exterior of the houses have individual patios and the driveways are very well finished with stone. When you are in a forest you do not have gardens and the areas around the houses are maintained on a regular basis. There is absolutely no difficulty in getting access to the houses and these are not obstructed. The comment re views does not merit a comment. Suffice it to say, another forest which is contiguous to us has now all the trees cut down and there are some additional spectacular views.
All the houses have three power showers and these three showers can be on simultaneously. The showers are powered by a Grundfos pump (Danish) and this pump drives the pressurized water system. If you do not want this on, you just turn the switch off. The comments re check-in/ security,we reply as follows. We could allow guests to check -in earlier than standard check-in times if we were not operating at high occupancy levels. These check -in times and security deposit are advised well in advance and are part of our terms and conditions.

“Tranquil holiday”

My family, including 3 children stayed at the ballyhoura forest luxury accommodation for 4 nights. We were greeted by Mary on arrival and given clear concise directions on how the house 'worked'. The house was comfortable and clean, but most important, so relaxing in its forest setting. There were 3 different small playgrounds very close to the house to keep the kids occupied during down time. A lovely loop walk from the house around the vicinity, and a great pub just a 5 minute walk away. No shops nearby (nearest about 4 miles away) but once you arrive stocked up its no problem. Couldn't fault the accommodation or our hosts

“Fantastic accomodation in the heart of Ireland”

Ballyhoura Forest Luxury Homes ticks all the right boxes for a great family holiday. So much to do right on your doorstep including mountaing biking at the Ballyhoura MTB trails (less than 10 mins away), horse riding stables and mountain hacks, miles of great hill walking with way marked loops and stunning scenery. There is also a wealth of local heritage to see including lough Gur, an ancient irish settlemrnt that has been inhabitited for more than 6000 years.

With Cork and Limerick Citys accessible for day trips in under an hour it makes the ballyhoura a very central location.

John and Mary are excellent hosts, the accomodation is is beautiful, with everything you would need for your stay including self catering kitchen 3 ensuite double bedrooms, wifi and sky tv. This is our second time to stay here and I'm sure it wont be the last.
