My first reaction on arrival at the Boutique Hotel was "Do I really have to stay here for 3 nights or is there an alternative option". Its probably OK as a cheap tourist hotel but not really as a business hotel. A big problem is the lack of internet access in rooms and the wifi also does not work properly in the lounge. Also, you can't get a cooked breakfast before 08:00. The bathroom is small and it is almost impossible to shower properly in a tiny shower cubicle. There is also no parking and you have to find space on the road outside which is not always easy, or in a city-centre multi-storey car park.
None of this is clear from the web site and my expectation of a 3 star hotel in 2013 would include reliable internet access and breakfast at least from 07:30. Many of the good reviews on this web site come from the perspective "we weren't expecting much" and I think if you have low expectations then you'll be OK. However, there are several better hotels in Limerick for the same price as the Boutique.
On the plus side it is very handy for the city and the staff are helpful.More
