I stayed in this hotel for one night. The hotel was a little dated. I was a little annoyed that when I arrived at the hotel and tried to book a spa treatment I was unable to due to it been fully booked.

It is located around 10 minutes taxi ride from the city centre, but a great location for the main road out of Limerick.

Thank you for your review and delighted you felt we offer a great hotel. I apologise that our Spa was unable to accommodate you, we do tend to advise people booking to book in advance as it is a very busy spa particularly at weekends.
I do hope that you return and next time you get to use the spa, as it is truly something special.

This is a very comfortable modern hotel, with lovely big rooms. It's just the right distance from Limerick city to make shopping and eating out convenient but also enough of a "trip". Check out the fab outdoor hot tub - which is the best kept secret ever as there are aboslutely NO signs for it!!! You have to go through fire door to find it, but well worth finding as you'll probably have it to yourself... Pool not very child friendly as it's short and quite deep at one end. They give free papers and big red apples at the gym. Massive buffet breakfast with all sorts of options including rabbit sausages!! Dinner good too. Only low point is the efficient but utterly cool (i.e. not warm) attitute of the staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room far away from the lifts

We stayed mid-week in Summer and couldn't complain about our stay - quite enjoyable.

The reception area is large and next to a lounge area. We found the "Bedrooms" sign amusing (which is where the rooms were located). Our room was right next to a lift (not noisy at all), it was neat and clean with bright furnishings, bed was comfortable and overall everything was quite OK.

The Internet was free - which was a nice surprise!

Had a short stay here again with the family having had a nice stay during the summer, and pleased to say that it didn't disappoint.

There was a great Christmas atmosphere about the place with Christmas trees, decorations, candles, and mince pies in reception in addition to a couple of warm open fires. When we arrived on Friday evening, a number of Christmas parties were in progress and it was quite crowded but after 8pm the parties mostly moved into their function rooms and there was plenty of space in the bar to have dinner comfortably. Food again was very good although we found that for the kids menu the chicken nuggets had been replaced by chicken 'tenders' (I think) which were too spicy for our two kids (aged 4 and 6) so I'd advise checking the kids menu more carefully than I did. Although the waitress made up for it by bringing extra chips instead, so not a big problem.

We had a family room which was very spacious containing a king size bed, two single beds, sofa and desk. Also mini bar, tea making facilities, iron and a safe (a real essential in my view these days). Our room was clean and warm, beds very clean and comfortable, plenty of towels provided and very good quality toiletries. Discovered this time that there is a small games room - a converted bedroom - for the kids containing some toys, a table which can act as pool table/hockey table/football table, a wii console and DVD player. Fairly basic but our two kids loved it. It's not supervised so for younger kids you'd need to stay with them.

For breakfast there was a very good range of hot and cold food, fruit, bread, muffins, croissants, yoghurts, etc and we found the waiting staff very friendly and attentive. The only down side is that the toaster was a bit hard to manage - it's one of those large appliances that takes about 10 slices of bread and with several people trying to toast their bread at the same time, you really have to stand over yours or its guaranteed to get burnt or robbed!

I feel it's worth mentioning something which sums the place up quite well which I observed when I was having a late drink in the lobby : I saw the receptionist go into the back room to get something for a lady. While the lady waited for her to return, another member of staff who seemed to be on his way home at the end of his shift (at least he had a coat and scarf on) passed by and doubled back and asked her if she was being looked after. Which of course she was. But this was a good example of the general atmosphere of the place and how committed the staff in general was to looking after the guests.

Overall this was great service and great value, had a great stay and hope to repeat it again. Well done!

Booked this hotel for a weekend break for me and my wife to do a little Christmas shopping in Limerick. The hotel rooms are very spacious and well furnished with all the comforts you would expect from a four star hotel except for having more space,We found the staff in this hotel to be very obliging and friendly, the hotel was kept very warm especially the rooms during this winter break. The breakfast was excellent I would go so far as saying probably the best hotel breakfasts me and my wife have ever had.The restaurant in the evening is not to the same standard the food was just about OK but the service very good, it is pub grub in a restaurant. The bar food was OK as far as bar food goes.We will definitely use this hotel again as we both enjoyed our stay.Overall very good comfortable hotel with friendly staff and a excellent breakfast.

My husband and I stayed for one night a week ago. From the outside the hotel could do with a bit of a "spruce up", however on entering the reception area you forget the outside. The reception/foyer area is very nice, modern & welcoming. There are lots of comfy couches spread out around the area with lovely fires glowing. Our check in was hassle free, and we had no problem finding our room. The room was standard, but it was spotlessly clean and the bed linen was clean & fresh. The tv was ancient with a poor choice of channels, but I'm sure with Saorview on the way all outdated hotel tv's will have to be updated. After a busy day of shopping we decided to order room service which was lovely and good value for money. Breakfast on Sunday is served until 11 a.m. which is nice for those requiring a lie in. We were very pleased with breakfast and there was a great selection on offer. We then hit the spa area. We had a few hours before our treatments and we really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, tropical rain shower etc. The relaxation area is very, very nice and there are 9 treatment rooms. We were both having treatments and our therapists came and took us on time. I have to say I've visited many spa's and it would be hard to find a therapist as nice as my therapist Jennifer, she was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and made me feel very relaxed.I would highly recommend her and look forward to visiting "Rain spa" again. We also had lunch in the hotel that day and it was delicious with plenty of choice, also the "help yourself" dessert table is a must.....
