“Plenty of interesting history nicely explained.”

Walk both trails. Visitor center has new museum -- they made the most of a small display. Take advantage of the audio tour (consider sharing to save money).

“A great family friendly day trip”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

We went to the Lough Gur visitor centre on a rainy afternoon. One adult and 7 kids. The three 10 year olds and the two 7 year olds could easily have spent a number of hours there very well occupied - they loved listening to the legends on the mobile "radios", made puzzles, dressed up in costumes and completed the activity sheets. They learned loads! The two three year olds spent their time digging in the excavation area looking for different items. The staff were fantastic - really helpful and great with the kids. Scenery stunning.

“Lovely little centre beautiful site”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Lough Gur is absolutely stunning. The Centre is small but fine, with nice little surprises (dress up). The lady working there is an absolute doll! Go outside with the tour phones, its well worth it. Will visit Lough Gur again and pop into the centre for an icecream :)

“Visit to Lough Gur”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

I visited Lough Gur last weekend and I was taken aback with the beautiful scenery that faced me. It was a glorious sunny day and a lot of people were coming and going all day. I spent most of the day there and really enjoyed the feeling and energy of the place. I was impressed that it had all the facilities one would need while spending the day there. When I visited the Visitor Centre shop I was greeted in such a welcoming and most friendly manner by the two girls working in the shop area. Aine told me a lot about the place and spoke with such a passion and knowledge about Lough Gur. Aine was extremely helpful and gave me a lot of information about the trails and forts etc. I look forward to visiting the place again soon and seeing more of this spectacular place. I would recommend everyone to visit Lough Gur,
