If you have children you definitely should visit the castle. The exhibits are meant to entertain. You can play a challenge game of guessing the outcome of judicial cases based on early Irish law. There are "characters" throughout the castle (filmed) ready to discuss the details of their job or other aspects of life during a siege. The views from the top of the castle walls of the River Shannon are amazing. This is not just another museum.
