“Really good, but ...”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Had a generally excellent meal at the Curragower on Friday 27 July, but there was one problem.

The goat's cheese and black pudding salad was extremely poorly presented visually and the dish did not work in terms of flavour and texture. The black pudding was slimy rather than oaty and the raspberry coulis was 'lashed onto' the dish and was sickly sweet rather than sharp. The flavour of each of the individual components and the salad were completely overwhelmed by the coulis which tasted more like the raspberry sauce one gets on an ice cream.

I did eat it all, but it really was disappointing and wasn't at all what I had hoped for. So avoid this dish.

Everything else was excellent (esp the calamari), the service was great and the atmosphere was so congenial.

Tried to bring the problem dish to the bar's attention via the Curragower's website but the 'contact us' mail area did not work and I could not find an e-mail address.

“Great Food here”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We went to this pub because in the fifties my Mum and Dad used to go there for evenings out. So it started as a bit of a nostalgia trip.
We decided to have dinner and were pleasantly surprised.

Good food, good service and attentive staff.

Good atmosphere and loved the view over the Falls
Recommend it to any visitors to Limerick, I am sure the locals already know about it, there were lots of them there that evening.

“Little gem hidden in the city”
Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

Lovely food, beautiful sights of the city while sitting outside. Had only been here before for a few drinks on match days but have been here twice in a week for the food and will be making a regular outing. Staff were very friendly also.

“Extremely good casual meal or accidental pint :D”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

This was one of the best places to spend the afternoon/evening during last weeks's heat wave. The cozy outside space provides excellent views over the river to St. John's Castle and the rest of the city. It's never too busy and it's always an excellent experience. Whenever the sun shines we plan to go there.

We tried the food twice and both times it was delicious.
Staff is always friendly.
It has an ok value for service.

This is not a fancy restaurant but, after all, you wouldn't want it to be if just want to go have a fresh pint, grab a bite and have a great time.
