Description: The charming restaurant on the first floor of No. 1 Pery Square is called Sash, referring to that most distinctive feature of these magnificent Georgian houses, the sash window. The name Sash is also, maybe, a nod to the dressing-up appeal of going out to dinner somewhere special! Step into this stylish space through a quirky sash window-shaped door, into a restaurant with views of the surrounding Georgian streetscape, a lovely room with a menu that is quietly confident and traditional, but with the same contemporary twist to be found throughout all of No. 1 Pery Square. Focusing on home cooking with an extra layer of sophistication, the menu at Sash is almost like country house food in the city - showcasing simple but elegant dishes, both classic and contemporary, using old-school, time-proven techniques. Ingredients used are local, seasonal, and reflective of a menu that would have been familiar in the house at the time it was built, recognisable to those original Georgians, with the addition of herbs and leaves grown in No. 1 Pery Square's own kitchen gardens where possible. Sash also has a carefully selected wine list featuring a collection of unique boutique producers & classic selections, ranging from casual wines for relaxed evenings, to rare and hard to find bottles. Sash reflects the attributes of its home in No. 1 Pery Square - being elegant, thoughtful, Irish, historic, with an extra layer of sophistication and character. Sash is a little beacon of old-fashioned conviviality - cosy, not grand, relaxed, not posh - and serving proper food to share and enjoy.

We chose this restaurant because they were billed as being Gluten-free friendly. They were that and so much more! The menu was awesome and the service great. Almost half the items on the menu were acceptable for a gluten free eater! We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, two of us had the prix fixe Menu and 2 didn't, excellent wine list, etc! Would definitely go back again if we are ever in limerick again...

During a recent Limerick Food promotion I decided to give it another whirl! It was a set price menu (€35) so therefore I didn't have to get into a bake (sorry) about being charged for bread! As soon as we sat down a carafe of water and basket of bread were delivered to the table as one would expect from any decent restaurant. Service was good, perhaps a little prompt for my liking but that is really personal taste and I realize that most people don't like to linger between courses as long as I do! An amuse of ham hock and pickle was very good and starters of a smoked duck dish and an asparagus terrine were most pleasant. Mains for my husband were a daube of beef and for me spinach&ricotta pasta- again both very good. Dessert of a chocolate mousse was a little ordinary and the plate of artisan cheese was not particularly memorable. The waiter was unfamiliar with the cheese selection which I feel is quite important. Good espresso and a super bottle of rioja rounded off a most pleasant return to Brasserie One.

I was told this was one of the best places to eat in Limerick. I found the menu selection was poor, the food was average - cooked well but not seasoned and vegetables are charged extra. The portion size was OK but over all the service was poor. The chef may want to look at the recipe for sour-dough bread. I think he mixed it up with Soda Bread!!! and charged €2 for 4 slices. I wont be returning here in a hurry.

At last - a professionally run eaterie in Limerick city that presents reasonably priced haute cuisine without any affectation. Classy and friendly, with a selective but diverse menu, and excellent value (the early bird dinner menu is particularly so). The food was tasty, considered and well presented (if a bit heavy on the seasoning) and copious enough to make a dessert feel just a Little bit challenging, but worth the effort (!). Full, elegant wine options as well. Service was helpful and courteous (mother-in-law was particularly charmed - very important!), and the room is nicely, if sparsely, lit and furnished, but in keeping with the Georgian character of the building (part of the Number One Pery Square boutique hotel). Will definitely go back - have been there now for lunch and dinner - probably the best 'civilised' restaurant for dinner in Limerick city, among what seems to be a disproportionately high number of chinese and pub options!

No 1 Pery Square is a beautiful Georgian house in the centre of Limerick. I'm a lover of period houses and this is beautifully maintained and decorated. Afternoon tea is only delicious , the bedrooms are huge and comfortable and the food in the restaurant is really excellent -i am a fuss pot and i really recommend it, the service is very professional and very friendly . Finally breakfast is also excellent and made to order. Next time i go there will spend some time in the stunning spa there.

Thank you all at 1 pery square for a wonderful stay,
