“Ace of space, party central”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

Few venues could manage a buffet party with music for a 90th birthday celebration shared with an 80th, and its attendant invalids and multiple generations. Locke Bar and its private chambers, Loft Venue, did in sporting style.

The separate entrance that accommodated a doorstep drop-off, nearby parking (free) and lift up to linking rooms clinched the deal. There was super space for the under 7s to run around, a little hall to chair two amiable musicians - sourced by the house - and airy buffet room for hot and cold food. It made light, flowy work of a happy get-together over hours.

Foods were delicious, really lovely, and presentation elegant. With self service requested for privacy, staff helped with everything from the wine reception to plating strawberries, and finally, take-home portions of cake and any seafood.

We are hugely appreciative. Friends and family had a relaxed time while elders had dignity and their comfort.

Happy days, and thank you, all at Locke Bar and Restaurant.

“We were looking forward to going here but...”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

I really wanted to give this place a great review. The atmosphere was awesome. The location was central. The food was great. The drinks were everything I wanted in Ireland. The staff was so friendly. BUT, we waited over two hours for our food. There were five of us, each of us ordered the signature fish and chips, bangers and mash, etc. The place was packed so I understand why it took so long. But we are five guys- the burly, heavy- drinking type without our girls. We wanted to spend a lot of money on various types of alcohol, but we needed a good meal first. Most establishments would cater to our type, but again over two hours for food. It was a shame we had to take our euros elsewhere, but they are not suffering after losing our business one bit.

Thank Michael S

“Great place”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

The bar is a very welcoming place to walk in to. Usually evening music is on. Although it's not so loud you can't hold a conversation with people.

The bar does get very busy on a summers night, and it has a great reputation for its food )I can highly recomend the fish or the burgers, it's always a treat)

I would suggest the deserts are limited choice, but other than that can't fault it.

“Best Seafood Chowder!!!”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

The Locke Bar was a great atmosphere. A lot of fun and a lot of action outside. The service was a little on the slower side due to the overwhelming amount of people that were there. the food came out in a timely fashion and was very good, but the wait staff was not as attentive to their tables.
Seafood chowder was SO fresh and delicious. very hearty and big chunks of seafood. very enjoyable.
