“Brilliant”
Reviewed September 15, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Stayed here for a week with my wife and what a truly lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean with every facility you would have at home, we were told to bring some firewood logs for the fire but there are so many logs laying about the forest which is literally on your door step all you have to do is pick them up. Three bed rooms and two bath rooms and all the room inside that you could ever want. If you need a wifi hook up just dander up the hill to reception and you will be hooked up and ready to surf the web and if reception is closed you even have your own key to gain access. There is a lady on site called Ita who is a mind of imformation and always ready to help. If your driving this is really a central point as Cork city is 40 minutes away and Limerick is a similar time away also and Killarney just a little bit further down the road and if your in Killarney why not meander on down the road to Dingle and spend a lazy afternoon looking around this little gem of a town. If you wish to eat out as we did then Mitchelstown is 10 minutes away and there are a host of restaurants here, I would recommend the hunters rest if you want quantity along with quality. Just google Ballyhoura mountain lodges and you will get all the information you need to make a booking and remember the 3 bedrooms but there was just the two of us but think of the super value if there had been 6 of us, great value great location.

“Peaceful and comfortable surroundings and lodges”
Reviewed September 4, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Stayed here for 10 nights beginning of August, the lodges are easy to find but in the middle of nowhere. Approx 20 mins to nearest big town and about 10 mins to smaller villages. The village where the lodges are based has 1 pub but no shops. The lady who manages the lodges, Ina was very helpful and did us an enormous favour, thanks again! The lodges are very well equipped and are home from home. if you want rest in beautiful part of the world then this is for you. Ideally situated 2 1/2 hours from the coast in both directions.

Hi Cheryl, Delighted you had a good stay here with us. You might think it is a quiet area when you first arrive but there is so much to do. Biking, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, walking, activity areas and more. Also some areas that don't have a charge and that children enjoy. It is about an hour to the beach in Youghal, Co. Cork.Hope ye will be back again in the future. Ita

“Excellent self catering forest homes.”
Reviewed August 31, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Booked a 3 nights stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited various tourist attraction like the Bunratty castle, Mitchelstown caves etc. The forest home itself is spacious 3 bedroom house with all basic necessities.
Ita, the property manager is very helpful and has a good knowledge of the surrounding areas and attractions. Would definitely visit again but with a group for more fun.

“A haven”
Reviewed July 15, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We have stayed here a number of times and have never had cause for even the slightest complaint. Ita offers such relaxed warm hospitality rarely found these days. The house was spotless as always and there was nothing missing in the well equipped kitchen. Ita has a wealth of information on what to see and do in the local area, all ages can be entertained in some way. The local pub in ballyorgan "the village inn" is wonderful, lovely local welcoming people in a cosy comfortable environment ....what more could you ask for!
