After a slow start to our service, this restaurant excelled in the delivery of a beautifully conceived seasonal menu. Goose sausage roll with cranberry sauce to start. Mains was duck two ways with pearl barley Risotto was outstanding. Passion fruit trifle was spoilt a little by the odd inclusion of half a tangerine..

Maitre'd knows his wines. The room is benefits from the moveable partitions that provide some booth type privacy to clientele.

The girls had a hazelnut chocolate cake which was very nice.

We went with a group from work. Two of us arrived late and there was no fuss in giving us starters even though the others had finished theirs. They were served quickly with no apparent delay to our colleagues.

I had beetroot and goats cheese tartlet to start which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife had goose sausage roll which was meaty, tasty but a little dry though served with chutney.

For main course I had sea bream with an artichoke and bacon risotto. I thought both were delicious but one of our colleagues thought the risotto was too rich. My wife had the beef which was cooked as ordered and very good.

Deserts were a little disappointing. I had Christmas pudding Alaska which was fine but my wife had a chocolate cake which was a bit dry and uninteresting.

Coffee was good and the service attentive. Someone left something behind and they phoned our host to let him know.

Don't know how much our meal cost but I did look at the menu on the wall outside and prices seemed reasonable.

Ate here with business colleagues. Lovely elegant ambience. Good wine list (the Graham Beck Pinotage from South Africa was excellent as was the Italian Pinot Grigio) and very good well presented food. The restaurant was a little quiet on arrival so the delay in getting the wine list and being served a drink was a little surprising. The food was well prepared and well presented although there was an opinion that it was a little OTT in the presentation and the scallops meal tasted like it had a dash of perfume in it! However as a total dining out experience I would certainly recommend the Zuni and would love to try it again especially if the head chef is on duty. Once we had overcome the slight delay in getting wine served the front of house and waiters were attentive and good. Never paid the bill so cannot comment on value for money but the menu items did not look terribly expensive. Well done Kilkenny.

This is a nice restaurant serving good food. Went for the arly bird on a Friday, 2 courses at €23, 3 at €28. Service is very good, abd the choices on the menu are ok. Food was good and the restaurant filled up as it got closer to the 7pm end of early bird service. Looked like there were a mix of parties, couples, womens groups, work groups. Worth a visit.
