We had a wonderful time here. The home and grounds are well tended and the hosts were gracious and welcoming. We arrived tired and jet lagged and we were offered refreshment and rest. They had excellent recommendations for us as to where to eat, what to do, and sights to see that are not in any of the guide books.
Our room was warm and our bed comfy. Soap, shampoo, and body wash were provided as well as thick warm robes.
They have a small putting green in their front yard!
Breakfast was served on locally made pottery and the food was hot and delicious. I hope we can return in the future!

At first I thought I wanted to stay in the town of Kilkenny, but this B & B is so highly rated that we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did!! As it turns out it is only a quick 10 minute drive into town, and their home is perfectly located to see and do everything while still being able to relax and enjoy the countryside. We were met by Jimmy and he offered us tea and cookies and even took our bags up to our room! The room was large and very comfortable, I really appreciated the attention to details that make a room so inviting (large beds, good linens, good water pressure, even bottled water and chocolates!) When we were ready to explore Kilkenny, Mairead told us about all the different sights to see, pubs, and restaurants as well as where we could park in town (which is always a good thing to find out!). We loved Kilkenny! If you love lively bars with lots of great Irish music, this is the town for you! Don't miss Kyteller's Inn, a real piece of Irish history! As we got ready to leave the next morning, Mairead made sure that we had the biggest and best Irish breakfast, the food was delicious and kept us going all day long. On our way out of town she suggested we check out Kells Priory (just up the road) and the small town of Kells. What a treat to walk out into fields full of sheep and explore the ruins of the old priory and the old priory mill that's just over the bridge. All I can say is, one night was not enough time to stay with the Newlands, so much in the area to see and do. Next time we'll stay for a week!!

We spent three nights at this lovely spot in August. It was a perfect place to decompress after our transatlantic flight. Jimmy and Mairead made us feel so welcome, and went above and beyond in their attention to detail. Breakfasts were yummy. I miss the Newland's egg melts! We will definately be back.

We spent one night here earlier this week. Our room was large and bright with a very comfy king size bed. Lovely extra touches included bottled water and chocolates on our pillow in the evening. Breakfast was delicious prepared with care and attention to detail. Just yum! Mairead and Jimmy are consummate hosts and go out of their way to ensure you feel warmly welcomed and at home and we certainly did! Will stay here again if we are ever passing through Kilkenny again. Highly recommend.

After a lengthy journey by road and sea crossing,we were delighted at the Very warm welcome from Mairead & Jimmy,to the tea and cakes on our arrival. As this was our first overnight stop in Ireland it was to be the best of all the other locations we visited. Our only regret it was only for one night, naturally on our next visit Newlands Lodge will be top of our list for a longer stay in this region as its location is ideal. Finally the breakfast provided by Mairead & Jimmy such a varied choice, and the Full Irish is The All Day Breakfast!

this is a beautiful b&b located right down the road (about a 5-10 drive minutes) from the center of Killkenny. Jimmy & Mairead were wonderful hosts who helped us with restaurant suggestions and reservations in addition to suggestions of other places to visit during our stay. the rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. i woud recommend staying here if you are in the area. if circumstances allow, we would certainly stay here again.

Every box has been ticked for the senses with this B&B.... just 6kms from the Kilkenny centre. Hosts Mairead gave us a very warm welcome, information given and we were left with tea and cakes in their beautifully decorated lounge overlooking a glorious rose garden and outdoor outlook. Our room was large and spacious, beds new and comfortable, linen - top shelf. The large ensuite had a lovely deep bath and the water pressure in the shower was hot and strong!
Breakfast added another layer of delight when there were 5 different selections to choose from. The grace and generosity of spirit showed us by the hosts was amazing and we cannot speak highly enough of our weekend at Newland Lodge. And the price was again very surprising with the reasonable tariff for such deluxe accommodation. I will be very surprised if this B&B can be beaten!

Room Tip: Dont miss out on this beautiful place
