“Grand!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Went here for a girlie weekend. Got a great deal for 125 for B&B, spa treatment and Dinner. Rooms were very nice, roomy, great big bed, robes and slipper provided. The Spa wasnt what you would call relaxing, it was wedged with women, nowhere to sit in the relaxation room, which was far from what it says it is with people's names being shouted about the place every couple of minutes and the massage chair sounding like a pneumatic drill. I filled out my spa form saying I had very sensative skin yet when the therapist started putting stuff on my face it burnt my skin and I told her and she said "oh i better get the stuff for sensitive skin", Grr, whats the point in filling out the form if they dont even read it. And then she told me not to go into the hydrotherapy pool after the facial...I feel like I missed out, it looked lovely.
Dinner in Yindees was yumee, there were a good few big groups of women so there was a good buzz and the X bar does lovely (quite expensive) drinkies after. There a nice smoking area but they could do with a few decent gas heaters, it was baltic. There was a singer man with a guitar who kept the toe tapping.
Breakfast was absolute choas, filthy tables everywhere, queues for the food...but once you got a table it was very tasty.
All in all it was just "grand". I wouldnt go on a romantic break here, girlie weekend is fine.

I cannot recommend lyrath enough, we got married there at the end of September and it was fantastic. The staff could not have been more helpful both in the run up to the big day helping us with all the little things and offering advise to the weekend itself. We had so many personal touches we wanted to add and they were so accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble and loads of our guests commented on how friendly the staff were. The hotel is fab with the use of the old house for the drinks reception to the function room which looks amazing when its all done up to the x bar for the bbq the next day.
Not many of our guests had been there before and everyone was full of praise for the place, i would definately recommend it as an amazing place to get married.

Really lovely hotel, minor niggles were, the bed was quite uncomfortable, no duvet either just sheets and blanket. Also the temperature throughout the hotel was a too cool, esp in the lobby and Yindees restaurant.
We had afternoon tea in Tuppers which was just ok, dinner in Yindees was gorgeous, although the penang curry was way, way to spicy.
The spa is nice, but 30euro pp to use it is a bit steep, its just a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room !

We took advantage of one of the hotels packages which included dinner, bed and breakfast and all I can say is that it was fantastic value for money. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast were lovely and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the hotel at all times.

Stayed here for our anniversary. Gorgeous hotel. Fantastic rooms. We got to stay in the old style and modern rooms (as there was a shower leak in our first room). The service was very good accommodating us moving rooms. Lovely food. Large grounds to walk around.

We had large family gathering there and they really were very good and the food was 5 star and the service very good. The staff were really good with the vegetarians and the children who wanted other things off the menu. Yes it was a nice experience and the staff did not intrude on the party and yes i would book there again.
