“A fun way to see Kilkenny”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

It was bicycle week in Kilkenny, which sparked our interest in riding bikes through the town. We took a bus tour from Dublin to Kilkenny, through Wicklow Gap and Glendalough, and decided to cap off the day with a bicycle ride in Kilkenny. We found Jason by sheer luck and we are so happy that we did. He was friendly, informative, and we thoroughly enjoyed that part of our day. It was a great way to see the city, from a different perspective. The bicycle tour is highly recommended.

“A different way to see kilkenny”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

My boyfriend and I did not have a car while in Ireland and this was such a fun way to see the area! Jason is fantastic and we were able to pick up our bikes right at his house. He found a bike that was the perfect fit for me as I am short so this was very nice. After our long bike ride we just left them at our B and B and he picked them up for us. He is very knowledgable about the area and have us a great map to do our self guided tour. Thanks so much Jason!!

“Such a fun way to spend an afternoon!”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We took the guide-led bike ride with Jason one beautiful afternoon and it far exceeded our expectations! He is both informative and delightful as he guides you through the city and surrounding areas with his local knowledge. We initially had been concerned about biking in the high traffic streets, but we spent most of our time on peaceful and scenic side streets and backroads. Also, our trip was able to be personalized which was a real treat. All in all it was a great way to learn about the area and spend a lovely afternoon enjoying the outdoors!

“Awesome day trip in Kilkenny”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

This was an AWESOME way to experience Kilkenny and all it has to offer. We rented bikes, stopped at sights throughout the city. Took back roads and enjoyed the beautiful countryside. We really felt it was an adventure every minute of the way. Hiking back was absolutely spectacular. Great sights, quality time with those you are with, and super fun. Easy to book and pleasure to deal with. You'll have a a great experience!

“Make time for this wonderful escape”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We spent a lovely afternoon on the Bike and Hike recommended by Jason. We cycled an ambling, undulating route along a quiet country road to the scenic village of Bennettsbridge. Beautiful countryside. Spring Lambs in the fields, trees in bloom. My wife hadn't been on a bike in three years and didn't find it difficult at all. We perused the craftmanship of Nicholas Mosse and his potters at their factory on the weir, housed in an old mill steeped in history. (Check out this panoramic view of the bridge overlooking the wier and Mosse's pottery shop http://360.io/aasGhD)

The lane by the butchers in Bennetsbridge leads to a path along the banks of the Nore leading to Kilkenny (almost seven miles - wear comfy shoes!). The path is clearly marked as it weaves along open fields with livestock and horses (http://360.io/NdUaG8) before cutting through a more sheltered route of riverside bush and trees. Walk the riverside in May and the beautiful woodland floor is a blanket of bluebells (http://360.io/VY86fE).

We packed a picnic and took in the quietness of the countryside and riverside. You'll spot the occasional flash of silver as fish breach the water's surface. Birds busy themselves from tree to tree. Walking on closer to Kilkenny we passed by the ruins of old mills and what appear to be castle ruins. The final stretch is a boardwalk and cement pathway into the city.

All told it took us three hours, maybe more with the picnic. Wonderful afternoon, well worth taking the time to do it.
