We came to Kilkenny around 4PM and had to return to Dublin that evening. With little time on our hands we thought the "road train" would be a good way to get a feel of the city.
The driver was nice, the recorded comments were informative and even humorous, and we did get to see the streets, and most sites - from outside, so all in all it's a good tour.
HOWEVER - the town is very small, so as we later found out it's best to just get a free map at the tourist info, then walk the streets. In 2 hours we toured every major site - most from the outside, some inside too, and enjoyed ourselves MUCH more than on the train.
If you have less than an hour in Kilkenny, or are disabled and can't walk much - you'll enjoy taking the road train. But if you have 90minutes and up and can walk a bit - skip the train and do it yourself.
