“outstanding welcome”

Helen Sheehan is a warm, caring owner with 26 years running this B & B, and it shows. The room was perfect for three of us, with a warm radiator next to the bed, an electric blanket, extremely clean room and bath, sidetable magazines, and everything needed for our one-night stay. There was a choice for breakfast; our full Irish meal was beautifully set out and served in a lovely dining room. The cost was 32 euros per night, 28 if in cash. We gave 100 for the loveliness of it all.

The one drawback was it is a ten-fifteen minute walk to town. For all the other plusses, we would stay here again.
The tourist information was phenomenal. We were given maps and suggestions of things to see in Kilkenny and on our trip to Killarney. Helen made reservations at Rossarney Town House in Killarney for the next night, and she asked the owner there to make reservations for the Ring of Kerry tour. Thanks to her help, we changed some unrealistic plans and had a wonderful time.

On the way out, we were waved goodbye at the door and wished "God Bless". How Irish, how warm, what a welcoming first night in Ireland. Thanks to Helen and her husband, Tom.

Staying at Cnoc Mhuire (pronounced ka-nock weer-ah) was a warm experience. As we arrived hungry and tired on a rainy November night, it was warm in many ways - not only in the reception - Helen sat us by the radiator and brought us tea and scones - but in the room itself. The radiator was right next to the bed and the bed had an electric heating pad.

It's good to have a car if you stay here - we didn't try walking to town but it would be inconveniently long if the weather were bad. This was the first B&B we stayed at on this trip and Helen helped us figure out where to go next, what to see on the way, and recommended a B&B at our destination. We stayed at the B&B she recommended and it was also great.

Nothing fancy but everything you want. Not too far from the City and Castle - but too far for us to walk. Helen and Don Sheehan were perfects hosts. We left with an itinerary. Helen reserved another B & B for us in Dungarvan.

Helen and Don Sheehan were the perfect hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were welcomed with a lovely pot of tea and homemade scones and Helen sat down and gave us information about all there was to do in this town including where we could find traditional music, the best places to eat and a map to the sites of interest. Our room was quiet and large and nicely decorated. Breakfasts were incredible and the fruit and cheese option a lovely alternative to the full Irish breakfast which was also available. Close to the castle and the design center Cnoc Mhuire is located in a
beautiful neighborhood. We look forward to staying there again.

Our hostess was wonderful. She was friendly and so helpful. She even called to find us another bed and breakfast in the Dublin area near the hotel and made the call for us. She gave us suggestions on what to do and see in the area. The rooms were cozy and clean and the food great. When we left we not only said good-bye, but rec'd. a kind hug.
