I stayed in Chaplins B&B in Kilkenny recently, really great value. I tried a few hotels and found them expensive. In Chaplins I got a really friendly welcome, room was perfect, location ideal and really great breakfast. A definite if visiting Kilkenny again.

this was our last stop in our trip ... we've been touring Ireland and stayed at 6 b&b before that night ... we had such great expererience from previous ones with the rooms and the welcome we were very disappointed. we had to ring twice until our host came. The welcome was a little abrupt we were lead to our room then left on our own ... the cat was very friendly ... the room was old, the shower weak and the wi fi didn't work in the room you have to go downstairs to get free wifi not very convenient !! the breakfast was good we barely saw our host the next morning as we were leaving she was rushing out ... I would not stay there again .

I found this B&B very worn and dated. I am by no means a first class traveler but this place needs an overhaul. I want to be fair here and not comment on the food as we left so early that we skipped breakfast. We stayed only one night and the people seemed lovely enough but I will not be returning to this location. The road it is located on is lined with B&B's so there has to be another option.

We enjoyed our one night at Chaplins on our way through to Dublin. The building is none too flash from the outside but we were greeted warmly on a cold, wet afternoon and found our room to be very clean and comfortable.. Brekkie was great and our host had plenty of useful advice regarding our trip on to the UK. Unfortunately we didn't have time to really explore Kilkenny but we had a fine meal at the Hibernian Hotel.

Stayed for two nights. Nothing fancy, but a good sized, clean room. Good breakfast. Owners were friendly, but left us alone for the most part. Short walk to town.

Just spent the weekend in Kilkenny with Friends & Chaplins was more than accomadating & a perfect base to work from as its just a short walk to the heart of town. The rooms are clean/spacious & brekkie was top notch. Very friendly, will definitely use again & would highly recommend! joan and susan do anything to help your stay there..the rooms have been freshin up..from the last time we where there..

My group of friends was on a road trip of Ireland through Sceptre Tours. Chaplin's was our first on the road overnighter. First the coordinates for the GPS were wrong, we kept ending up at private residences. Someone in one of them was able to tell us where we were supposed to have been. An eighth of a mile away on the other side of the road. Enough with the u-turns. I was the DD, so while I parked, others notified whoever that we had arrived and checked us in. I never met her. It is a rather large B&B- a veritable warren of rooms and steps. Our room was small and crowded. There was a twin and double bed, a built in wardrobe with a small seat for the mirror. If you wanted to lounge, there was only a common room. The bed was not comfy. WiFi was limited-needed to be in the dining room. The bathroom was small but clean (+). Breakfast was very good, communing with the other guests was fun and informative. The women who served breakfast were pleasant but were limited in recommendations for travel routes and local points of interest not always in the travel books. When we figured out that we needed to be further west at our next stop, it was not hard to decide not to spend another night here.
