While visiting Ireland we stayed in several hostels and this was the worst. The place seemed dark and did not portray a feeling of warmth or hospitality. We booked a six bedded dorm room for our group. The room was barely fair. While the beds were adequate and the furnishings were sufficient, the room was dark and drab. The room faced the street and it was a warm day. Therefore, we had to sleep with the window open. There was a pub across the street that was very popular. Needless to say, the noise level was high until the early morning hours. The shared bathroom on our floor was pitiful. Of the two showers, only one worked. The bathroom itself was dirty and needed major renovations. We didn’t use the kitchen or sitting room so I can’t comment on them. The place definitely needs some updating.
One positive is the location. The hostel is right on the main street which gives the visitor many options for sightseeing and dining.
