Vet Class of '76 have just had their 35th reunion in this wonderful hotel. As the organiser, I was in constant contact with the hotel (Yvonne and Mary) making and changing arrangements - nothing was ever a problem. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Very good rooms and excellent food. The reunion was a great success, thanks to everyone n the Newpark. Miriam Finn

Hotel was lovely and in a very central location. Bar food was excellent as was the service. Was very clean however, the lamp shades over the beds were coated in dust and the room was cold. The hotel was non smoking and the only smoking area we saw was out the front.

Myself and my family stayed here for a 5 night package in August 2011. We have been here twice previously so we knew what to expect. The hotel is clean, very nice helpful staff throughout and just a very well run establishment. The restaurant food is really good and even though we didn't eat in the bar we believe from other comments that it is equally as good. Breakfast is really good and an abundance of food available. Our package included a two night complimentary stay in any of the four Flynn Hotels and also an hour pony trekking for two kids in nearby Warrington and this was a really special treat for two little girls who never had been on a horse before and we met with Mr Maloney the owner of the equestrian centre and he is a real gentleman and it a great facility. The hotel gave us a picnic basket to bring with us which was lovely and we also got a family pass to the nearby Castlecomer Discovery Park. The hotel really good leisure centre and spa and the outdoor Vitality Pool is a must. The hotel also has a great Kids Club and the staff are really nice and the children loved them. All in all it very convenient for travelling into the City and a very enjoyable and relaxing place to stay.

We stayed for 3 nights during Sept 2011 in the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny. The hotel is just located a few miles outside of Kilkenny city which was very convenient as it allowed my husband and I to walk in and out of the town each day. The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly especially at the reception desk. My husband used the pool, steam room, sauna etc and thought they were very good. The food was very good although we thought the buffet style approach for lunch was odd. There was a group of visitors from Dublin there during our stay and there was some entertainment provided for them which made the bar area lively on one night. Overall we would recommend this as a good place to stay. On a separate point we eat in a fantastic Italian restaurant which was located opposite Kilkenny Castle - sorry cant recall the name but highly recommended!!

We are just back from a truely relaxing break in the newpark. This Hotel is a little out of the city which meant we had to drive into the city but we had two small babies with us and the weather was dreadful. However even the weather did spoil our holiday from the time we arrived we were made feel so welcome the porter helped us with our bags and nothing was ever a problem. This was our first time away with our two babies and didn't know what to expect but the rooms were great we had the ground floor executive rooms with interconnecting doors to our other room(granny came along too).
Cots were up and ready for us on arrival and both rooms were clean and cost with all the usual, tea/ coffee making facilities. We had breakfast to the room on the first day which was lovely but it meant we missed out on what can only be described as a feast they do a fabulous buffet breakfast and staff were amazing in always rushing to get us highchairs and pots of tea or coffee they never stopped being friendly to our children and oursleves, we are in the carvery and this was really tasty also I have to say you will not be disappointed in the food here as my other half is what we would call" fussy eater " and he devoured all
Meals handed to him with out a word said, truly a miracle! The swimming pool and gym are great however the children's pool temp is cold for small ones it could do with being one or two degrees higher. But the outdoor steam pool was an amazing treat And lovely to sit in even in the lashings of rain. The bar itself could do a bit music or something outside in the lobby as it can be a bit lacking in atmosphere in the evening but we we exhausted most nights but if we had been a couple on our own it would have been nice to have something to listen to rather then heading into the city at night. If your looking for somewhere that's clean , friendly and excellent value for money than I can not fault this hotel.

Stayed in hotel for 3 nites with my husband and 9mth old baby. Could not fault this hotel, Reception were v efficient and friendly, check in was hassle free and added bonus of free parking. The lobby was lovely with plenty seats, rooms were modern and spacious. The hotel is very child friendly, very welcoming of children. Only slight issue for me was no fridge in room to keep babies food chilled but staff were very helpful re heating bottles and storing baby food. Great pool. Ate in the hotel on two nites food was nice service was good and plenty choice. Hotel is only 10/12 minute walk from kilkenny.
