You'll likely want to come here for the view. But be warned: There are only a few tables by the windows, and those are usually held for favored customers. If you're one of those, good for you -- but even then, the food will be a completely forgettable part of your visit. Pork belly was both fatty and tough (tough pork belly? really?). A duck starter was overcooked. The crust on a tart dessert was so mushy it must have been (over)heated in the microwave. The bread was very nice, at least. And the staff were polite. But Kilkenny has several nice restaurants, and a couple of really marvelous ones. (Try Campagne.) If you're not a VIP with a shot at one of those window tables, I don't know why you'd come here.
