Kyteler's Inn was a great place to stop for a bite and a Guinness or three. The food was great as well as fast, friendly service. We arrived early evening and the pub was fairly empty but filled up quickly as the evening wore on and the main level was full by the time the band ( Raglan Rogues) started . Great time all around and a great vibe. Special thanks to Ritchie the barman for his friendliness.

We had a fun family night with our kids- eating an early dinner and listening to Irish stories and music from Irish Town. It was relaxed and nice enough. The wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and super busy, yet food came quickly. The fried Brie was delicious, lamb stew was tasty, and some kid friendly options including plain pasta with cheddar cheese - all good enough that our plates were clean! Save room for a nice local beer and the banana toffee pudding dessert- called a Banoffee/ banofi. There are several good places for music in town, so choose your preferences of what works for your family. If you are in Kilkenny, why not visit here? Also, this place has a great story for its history....

We arrived in Kilkenny and were looking for a light snack and a Guinness! Kyteler's Inn was perfect. Historic, fun and the food was great. We had the mushrooms stuffed with cheese and the pate and it was a perfect snack.

My husband and I were visiting Kilkenny last weekend, and we asked one of the locals where to go for lunch and without hesitation, she said Kyteler's Inn. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised! My husband's Vol au vent was creamy, rich with chicken and ham and served with a lovely side salad and a garnish and French fries. I was delighted with my chicken, mozzarella and sweet onion panini, which was also served with side salad and fries. The service was fast, our pints were delivered almost upon being seated, and we were able to sit at a cozy little window side table overlooking the busy street! We are living in Dublin while my husband works here, but we reside in New Jersey and will go back home by the end of the year, but we try to take weekend trips throughout Ireland, visiting local attractions and pubs. We will definitely be revisiting Kyteler's Inn again before we journey back to the states!
