Description: Quinlan's Seafood Bar, situated in the heart of Tralee tempts diners with fresh seasonal fish and seafood in a casually elegant setting. The fish menu is extensive and is based on what has been landed by our boats. Fresh Hake, Cod, Haddock, Whiting and Plaice, from Dingle bay are available throughout the year. Every day a range of specials depending on what is in season and has landed that morning is available. Our Fish Shop is Open from 8.30 to 6.30 and the Fish and Chips is open from 12pm to 10pm daily. Quinlan's are unique in Ireland as we source all our Fresh Fish and Shellfish from our very own boats and fish factory at Renard Point, Caherciveen.

Hubby both my daughters and I had a fairly long day in Tralee and fancied fresh fish so had to try this Quinlans as we heared so much about the fish and chowder. Four of us had magnificent cod (Battered in front of our eyes) freshly cut homemade chips, onion rings, mushy peas all washed down with ice cold diet coke. The batter was so light and the fish I have to confess was even nicer then Harry Ramsdens Liffey Valley (and boy they are hard to even match-taste wise).
Had a lovely chat with both friendly staff working there...I think they said their names were Kevin and Jane. They couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome-even spoke the few words of Irish. Its a breath of fresh air and very rare that you'd ever get such excellent food from such excellent staff. Keep up the good work and I guarantee you that you'll be global BUT please open your next up market fish/chip shop in Cork. Another 3 days left in our stay so will have to call again before we go home to Cork.

“Great service & excellent fish n ships”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

Really great Kerry welcome. Lovely selection of fresh named varieties of fish. The hand cut chips are the real deal. Children made very welcome. Fresh fillet of brill pan fried & served with lemon wedges & tartare sauce made for a very tasty evening meal. Best fish & chips in ages. Well done. Deserves to move from Trip advisor number 2 position the poll position.

Best fish and chips around. Makes a big difference that the fish is local and fresh. Homemade chips and mushy peas are a must. Pity they don't have a larger seating area.

“Won't do better for fish & chips”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

On a recent visit to Tralee while looking for a place for dinner a sudden downpour sent us scurrying onto Quinlans where we were immediately welcomed by the man behind the counter. What a lucky happenstance. I had the best fish and chips in decades. Really fresh and lightly battered. Reminded me of F&C in Scotland (decades ago) that came straight from the boats (before the days of quotas and the ubiquitous frozen fish from our northern neighbours). My wife enjoyed her fishcakes equally well. This place is a must-visit for traditional fish-and-chips fans.

Dear Richard B,
Thank you for taking the time to complete your glowing review regarding
your recent visit to Quinlans traditional Fish and Chips, Tralee.
I am very familiar myself with the chippies in Scotland and its true that it is getting harder to find the freshest of fish in many parts of the UK. Quinlans are fortunate to have their own supply and we can assure that all this fish is super fresh.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind regards,
