“The friendliest, cleanest place I have EVER stayed!”
Reviewed July 23, 2010

I was surprised how clean and roomy the cottages were. We had a family wedding and there were about 30 of us that stayed in the village. My Mom and I shared a cottage, it was roomy, clean, and had just about everything you could imagine in the kitchen from a microwave to a mixer! The views were beautiful and the people friendly. Tim at the pub brought his dog every morning who entertained us with his never ending retrieving skills! The food in the pub was by far the best we had while in Ireland, and the staff was always willing lend a helping hand where needed.

Visited Ireland, June 19th to the 26th, 2010.
5 adult siblings, spouses and some grown kids for a total of 19, stayed at the Tralee Bay Village. Rented 3 houses. Each house had 3 Br's and 3 baths. This was Ideal. Wonderful pub/restaurant "The Seven Hogs" on site. Had music entertainment on 2 nights, which was great. There is a spa on site as well.
Barrie OBrien proprietor, was extremely helpful in getting a local coach bus company; Mike Deane cab/taxi for us. Our driver John was the most pleasant and accomodating driver. Very reasonable. The beautiful scenic views from our houses was breathtaking.
Barrie gets discounts for all renters to local area activities such as spa, golf, fishing, horseback riding etc. A real "gem" in the Tralee Bay area.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to the County of Kerry. On our 1st visit we travelled from Dingle along the Conor Pass, heading toward Tralee. We passed a lovely looking pub called The Seven Hogs and decided to pull in for Sunday Dinner. We sat eating a fantastic meal, whilst looking out of the large window at the most breathtaking views. We promised ourselves to come back on our 2nd trip to ireland. We decided to look into the accommodation at the Seven Hogs, called Tralee Bay Village, and went onto the website. The houses looked beautiful and the price was very reasonable, especially when we knew the location was just as beautiful.
We booked up for October 2009, myself and my husband going alone for a quiet week away. We stayed in one of the sea view houses, and on our arrival were made welcome by Tim in the Seven Hogs pub (the man who served us the year before). He told us all we needed to know and told us the owner of the village, Barrie, would be in to see us in the morning. Barrie was just as welcoming and told us of good places of interest around the area. The house was very clean and offered everything you needed for a self catering basis (although the pub was metres away and has amazing tasting freshly ccoked meals).
Needless to say that we have been captured by the beauty of Tralee bay, not just for the views, but the staff in the pub, Tim and Sarah and Barrie the owner are so friendly and make you feel so welcome, we feel sad to leave. We returned without hesitation for our 3rd visit in June this year. We decided to bring the chldren, knowing that they too would enjoy everthing Tralee has to offer. We were once again made very welcome by Barrie, Tim and Sarah and the rest of the staff. We booked a slightly bigger house, again with the sea views and it was so good to be back with old friends.
You will not want or need for anything more than Tralee Bay Village has to offer, spectacular views, spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic hospitality and food from The Seven Hogs. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, with Conor Pass Drive and panaramic views of the bay, Dingle village for shopping, the aquarium and the special resident Fungie the Dolphin (with boat trips to see him). Tralee centre for the Kerry Museum and the Aquadome.
We cannot say anything bad about Tralee Bay Village, you have to go to see for yourself, and you too will be returning year on year as we do. We head back in November for our 4th visit and count down the days. Thanks to everyone for yet another fantastic stay.

Just got back from ten great days of fishing and surfing in Ireland. Having just read the last review I can only agree fully with the opinion of the contributor. The accomodation was excellent, very well stocked and the woodburner was great during the evenings for a bit of extra warmth.

It was interesting to note how helpful the owner Barrie was, we had much the same assistance from him. When we arrived we asked for a couple of things and they were there within minutes. Our car also misbehaved slightly and he recommended someone to look at it for us which didn't cost us anything.

We used the pub once or twice but it was very quiet as it was the end of the season.

The fishing was superb as was the surf, food, pubs. Would I go back - absolutely!

Myself, my father an a friend stayed here in august 2009 while down for a week of boat fishing off the kerry coast. For this puspose (and for others) i found this to be an excellent choice and the best overall venue we have stayed in on the Dingle penninsula for boat fishing (out of around 15 years of going there).

Firstly there was plenty of space in the secure carpark to park our 17 foot boat so it was easy to park up and tow out every day (which has been a pain in some other places we have stayed). There was also a chest freezer to store our catch and plenty of drying room for wet gear.

The whole cottage was spotlessly clean and all cutlery etc was clean and well stocked (we were self catering). There was a pub and restaurant on the site which was lively (but not noisy and you dont hear it in the cottages) at nights with friendly staff and good value and quality evening meals, not to mention cold pints after a days fishing.

The location is close to Kerry airport (which i needed in the end, see below) and just a ten minute drive to scraggane slipway which is the best small boat slipway on the penninsula to access the excellent fishing in Tralee and Brandon bays.

the location is also close to the shore venues in tralee for stingray and other rays and the brandon storm beaches for bass. Brandon pier is also close for evening mackerel fishing if you need it.

What i was most impressed with though was the flexibility of the owner Barry. on the last scheduled day of our trip (a saturday evening) our jeep snapped an alternator belt so we were stuck unable to tow the boat back until we could get it fixed on the monday morning. For a very minimal charge Barry arranged for us to stay an extra 2 nights and arranged taxi transport for me to the airport on the sunday as i had to return home for a work meeting for a very reasonable fare.

For anyone boat fishing in the area i highly recommend it and likewise for shore fishing. It also a good base for anyone into surfing in brandon bay, sighseeing, walking etc.

Also very close to tralee and the roads are good all the way in. Suitable for families also as there were plenty on site during our stay and a short walk to the beaches

We just returned from a two week tour of Ireland. One of our favorite stops was Dingle Peninsula where we rented a self-catered cottage (attached on one side) at Tralee Holiday Village (also known as Seven Hogs). (http://www.traleebay.com) Barrie O'Brien is the very helpful proprietor. Our cottage had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen with an eating area and sitting room with a small peat/wood burning stove. A restaurant and pub are conveniently located on the premises, but the location is also convenient to Tralee, Castlegregory, surfing beaches, and the many scenic roads leading to the beauty that can only be found on the Dingle Peninsula. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and was the most economic accommodation of our two weeks. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
